1. Classify the following businesses based on your recommended strategies, viz.

make-
to-stock (MTS), make-to-order (MTO), and assemble-to-order (ATO).
(a) Shikhar Softtech produces customizable laptops for gamers, enabling its users to
choose many options and variations to build a gaming laptop.
(b) Achu Computer, a potential competitor of Shikhar Softtech, sells laptops with
standardized configurations in its various retail outlets.
(c) Durga Pharmaceutical sells a health supplement for gaining mass. The
composition of the health supplement was decided by its R&D team.
(d) Gautam's Prohealthy is a competing product. It tied up with some of the city's
leading gyms and gym instructors. The dosage of Prohealthy is customizable as
per the recommendation of gym instructors based on an individual's height,
weight, and body structure.
(e) Chandrika and Co. is a leading FMCG company that manufactures home care
products like liquid detergent, dish wash gel, etc.
(f) Prerna's Pizza commits to a 30-minute pizza delivery across nine metro cities of
the county. In order to ensure fast delivery, it keeps an inventory of pizza bases.
After receiving the customer's order, the pizza is baked as per the customer's
requirements.
(g) Kritika Cosmetics is a leading player in the market, which sells 200 unique shades
of lipsticks on Nyka and various retail outlets.
(h) Rimjhim Juice operates across 200 cities in the country. It extensively focuses on
sourcing local and seasonal fruits to empower local farmers. One of the USPs of
the company is that it offers fresh juices served in 300 ml of glass for 40 Rs
throughout the year. However, the availability of fruits across different cities and
seasons is not the same because of geographical and weather constraints.
(i) Ojal's appeal deals with premium business formals for both men and women in
India. Most of the knitting and fabric manufacturing operations happen in Italy.
The suits are kept in the pre-stitched stage at the Indian outlets.
(j) Shivani and Co produces office stationeries like staplers, punching machines,
sticky tapes, etc., and supplies its products to various IITs and IIMs.
