EVELYN R. FETALVERO, CESO IV
Regional Director My warmest greetings to the school officials, administrators, faculty members and advisers, teachers, parents, and guardians of the graduates and completers of School Year 2021-2022! On behalf of the Department of Education (DepEd), I am proud to celebrate the successes, milestones, and achievements of this batch’s graduates and promoted students in this year’s End-of-School-Year rites with the theme “K to 12 Graduates: Pursuing Dreams and Fostering Resilience in the Face of Adversity.” In the past six years, we committed to our mandate to enhance the quality of education, broaden its access, and ensure its relevance in the rapidly changing world. DepEd endeavored to address each challenge by instituting programs and reforms in the Department. We have fully implemented the K to 12 curriculum and the aggressive reforms of Sulong EduKalidad to produce globally competitive learners and teachers. We also expanded our mission for accessible education by strengthening the Alternative Learning System (ALS) and the Last Mile Schools programs to reach more Filipinos. Likewise, we also established the National Academy of Sports (NAS) and Education Futures Unit to create more opportunities for our learners and anticipate the future of the education system in the country. Committed to sustaining this momentum, the Department developed and implemented the Basic Education-Learning Continuity Program (BE-LCP), where we offered various learning modalities and produced award-winning initiatives such as the DepEd TV and DepEd Commons at the height of the pandemic. Eventually, the Department held its ground against an unprecedented challenge in basic education as we progressively expand the reintroduction of face-to-face classes in the country. Indeed, education is truly a shared responsibility. This is why we express our utmost appreciation to our dear parents and teachers for being our partners in nurturing the youth throughout the years. To the Class of 2022, resilience is in your blood. You have survived one of the toughest times in human history, yet still embraced education as your primary tool to success. I believe that with your passion and purpose, you can reach your dreams and change the world. May you keep on harnessing and imparting wisdom as together, we will build a nation of competent global citizens and future leaders.
It gives me so much joy and fulfillment to express my warm
greetings and felicitations to all the basic education completers and graduates of School Year 2021- 2022 in the entire DepEd, Schools Division of Baybay City. This year has feigned so much challenge to all our learners and teachers. Their tragic experience brought by the effects of Tropical Storm Agaton have caused so much pain in everyone’s heart that created an unstable mental health condition among them. Yet, they remain resilient and hopeful amidst their depressing situation, thereby embracing education as their primary tool to success. Indeed, with this year’s End-of-School-Year rites theme “K to 12 Graduates: Pursuing Dreams and Fostering Resilience in the Face of Adversity,” our learners, especially the graduates and completers, have made us proud of their courage to move on and able to celebrate their successes, milestones and achievements despite the trials and tribulations encountered. This, I believe, is the essence and character of a real Baybayanon – able to surpass and address unprecedented challenges with grit and resilience. Our unique experiences brought by the unusual mode of instructions in the new normal has likewise broaden all our pedagogical perspective of teaching and learning. The new set of learners has been conditioned to be independent in the way they acquire knowledge and information, and that teachers should also learn to adapt to this current societal demand. Thus, we, the key officials of the Schools Division Office of Baybay City, hereby assure all those who have stake in education, that we shall continue to maximize our initiatives, as we implement reforms in our educational system to ensure that our products become globally competitive and able to meet the demands of the society. As we continue to endeavor to enhance the quality of education, broaden its access, and ensure its relevance in the rapidly changing world, may I invite all our valued stakeholders: school administrators, teachers, parents, the Local Government Unit officials, and other education partners to sustain the usual efforts extended in supporting our institutionalized programs and reforms in the Department. Education is a shared responsibility. Hence, each of our contributions truly matters. To the graduates and completers of batch 2022, the wisdom of being resilient has already been habituated in your system, considering all the experiences you have gained. Take advantage of them. Make them the source of your inspiration to bounce back forward from trials and be a better version of yourselves. I am, therefore, optimistic that with all these situations that sharpen you as persons and future professionals, you can certainly reach your dreams and conquer the world. Congratulations!
