So in this circuit when ever any obstacle comes near than specific distance the led bulb is going to blink

The circuit detects obstacles by using an infrared LED and a photo diode, where the LED emits infrared light that reflects off nearby objects. As an object approaches, the reflected light increases the current flow through a resistor, which is then amplified by an LM358 op amp. A comparator is used to trigger an LED indicator when the processed signal exceeds a set reference voltage, adjustable via a potentiometer.

Circuit Operations

• So in this circuit when ever any obstacle comes near than

specific distance the led bulb is going to blink.

• Energy from the infrared radiation is absorbed by P-N

junction of the infrared photo diode and it is converted into
electrical energy which is less in magnitude.

• So this infrared LED provides us some infrared light which

reflect and hits the photo diode whenever any object is
Infront of them.

• So as the obstacle come nearer to the sensor the amount of

infrared light that reflect and falls on photo diode increase
which cause more current to flow through the resistor. So
current flow through the resistor is inversely proportional to
the distance of the obstacle from the sensor.

• Then this weak signal is amplified by the LM358 op amp and

all we need to do is use comparator to turn on the output
when it is more than reference voltage

• So we need to provide reference voltage adjustable. Then

we use potential meter.
• Finally by the processed signal the circuit triggers LED to
indicate object detection.
