Creative Journaling Guide

Prompts to Get Started

1. Write about a moment when you felt truly creative. What sparked it?

2. Imagine you're designing a new invention. What is it, and how does it change people's lives?

3. Write a letter to your past self, describing how far you've come.

4. What does your perfect creative day look like? Describe it in detail.

5. Create a 'word collage' by writing random words that come to mind. Then try to form a story or

poem using them.

Imaginative Exploration

1. Write about a hidden door in your home that leads to a magical world. Whats on the other side?

2. Imagine youve been turned into an animal for a day. Which animal would you be, and what would

you do?

3. Describe a meal served in a fantasy land. What are the ingredients? How does it taste?

4. Create a story where you can only use objects currently on your desk or nearby as the plot

elements.

5. Write about a place where it rains something unusual (like music notes or flower petals).

Visual Thinking

1. Draw or write about your 'creative toolbox.' What tools (real or imaginary) would be in it?

2. List your favorite colors and describe a memory or feeling associated with each one.

3. Imagine your emotions as characters. What do they look like? How do they interact with each

other?

4. Create a map of an imaginary city where all your ideas live. Label the neighborhoods or

landmarks.
