I’m a civil engineer, currently I’m making a master’s in building information

modeling or better known as a BIM, I have experience as a civil engineer
coordinator in a civil engineer laboratory, where I had the opportunity to
introduce myself in the geotechnical field, I learned about several materials
such as: concrete, asphalt, masonry, aggregates, soils in general.
My role there was training the technical staff in how to make the test correctly,
analyze the tests results, and I’ve gained experience in quality control
I’m a civil engineer currently pursuing a master’s degree in building information
Modeling (BIM). I have experience as a civil engineering coordinator in a civil
engineering laboratory, where I had the opportunity to delve into the
geotechnical field. I learned about various materials such as concrete, asphalt,
masonry, aggregates, and soils in general.
My role there involved training the technical staff on how to conduct tests
correctly, analyzing the test results, and gaining experience in quality control.

Having in mind that you need someone who has different skills like
geotechnical knowledge, also blueprints and experience in construction
estimation I think I’m the best candidate to develop this role, I have all the
skills and abilities, I know about the most common values of soils properties
based in the American tests
Considering that you need someone with diverse skills such as geotechnical
knowledge, blueprint reading, and experience in construction estimation, I
believe I am the best candidate for this role. I possess all the necessary skills
and abilities, and I am familiar with the most common soil property values
based on American tests.
3.
Currently I’m looking for a new professional challenge, I would like to work in an
international company like this, putting my effort and abilities to make a plenty
of projects around the world, really it would be an excellent opportunity to
apply my knowledge
I am currently seeking a new professional challenge and would like to work for
an international company like this one. I am eager to apply my efforts and
abilities to numerous projects around the world. This would be an excellent
opportunity to utilize my knowledge.
1. Tell me about yourself and your background in civil engineering.
I have over a year and a half experience as a civil engineer, my
first experience was as a civil engineer estimator at a small
building company, where I was involved in the costs area,
making budget for the project, using building information
modeling, also I have experience in geotechnical field as a civil
engineer coordinator at a civil engineer laboratory, where my
main functions were; training to the technical staff in the
execution tests, analyzing the values of results and quality
control

2. Can you describe your experience with construction estimating?

My experience in construction estimating is based on using BIM
for save time and money, I think that it’s helpful to estimate
cost in different types of projects in civil engineer
3. How do you ensure accuracy when performing cost estimates
and quantity takeoffs?
Decreasing human mistakes is important to ensure accuracy that’s why I
use BIM, that program provides all the necessary tools to make a great
project
4. Can you give an example of a time when you had to handle a
significant change in project scope? How did you manage it?

5. How do you stay updated on labor costs, material prices, and

production times?

I like to investigate several suppliers and if it’s necessary call them for
knowing their prices or their services
6. Describe a situation where you had to communicate complex
project details to a client. How did you ensure they understood?
Actually it’s really simple if you can give the information in the
simple way, so I like to explain a client what is happening with
their project, what are the solutions and what is the most useful
for them.
7. What strategies do you use to promote construction best
practices and product innovation?
Including new materials and technologies that we can find in the
market, mixed with bim, I will be ensure the innovation in this
field

8. How do you manage your time and prioritize tasks when working
on multiple estimates simultaneously?
First, I need to know how long is going to be develop every
project and organized them based on their importance, ensuring
their quality
9. Can you explain your proficiency with Microsoft Excel and how
you use it in your estimating work?
Excel can be a powerful tool in estimating costs, I use it for
enhancing the project collecting all the necessary information
into the file

10.How do you interpret and utilize blueprints and technical

documents in your estimates?
Blueprints are the most important thing when I wan to make an
estimate, because I need to identify all the elements, materials,
details, etc involved into the project
11.What is your experience with ground-anchor solutions and
geotechnical systems?
I know about geotechnical systems and how to apply them,
depending on what type of soil or material it’s going to be
applied on
12.How do you handle working remotely and independently? What
tools or methods do you use to stay organized and productive?
Organizing my tasks based on wich is more important, so I can
plan for using my whole time efficiently.
