EMCEE: Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen! We are done with the solemn part of the

those who have just joined in, thank you for gracing us with your presence. In-behalf of Eldie
and Cristy, allow us to say – Welcome to Eldie and Cristy’s Wedding Reception!

EMCEE: I am Juna. I will be your emcees for today. Today, we have witnessed the promise
sanctified and blessed by the mighty source of love – Jesus Christ. Love has triumph and has
manifested in the lives of Eldie and Cristy.
To ensure that you do enjoy the day with us, just feel free to approach any of our family
members, if you need any assistance.

EMCEE: So, what basically is a Reception? How about from our guest? Ano ang pumapasok sa
isip nyo kapag sinabing Reception? Well, same thing goes true with me. Yet, I realized that it’s
not only that. There is more to it than food and drinks. It’s also a time where relatives and close
family friends come together and celebrate with the newlywed their first meal as a married
couple. Second, it’s a way for the couple and their family to extend their gratitude first to God,
and to all people who shared in their lives individually and will continue to share with them now
that they are one.

So, today, we all gonna meet these special people and hopefully hear from some of them later.

There’s really more to a reception than food and drinks.

Speaking of special people let’s start to know them now. Ladies and Gentlemen, please be on
your feet as we welcome the members of the entourage.

EMCEE: Joining us are highly- respected individuals, whose presence makes this celebration
extra special.
May we request the following people to stand as your name is being called.

Starting-off with those who made this wedding blissful:

FLOWER GIRLS
BIBLE BEARER
RING BEARER
AND COIN BEARER
I must say GOOD JOB!!!! Round of applause please!

EMCEE: Next, our secondary sponsors:

CANDLE SPONSORS. The pair who symbolically lighted the couple’s path
VEIL SPONSORS who clothed the newlywed as one
CORD SPONSORS who symbolically bound the pair together
BEST MAN & GROOMSMEN the gallant and good looking
MAID OF HONOR, MATRON OF HONOR & BRIDESMAIDS the stunning and splendid

EMCEE:We saw the fresh and young, let’s now go to the young at heart and spirit. Let us
welcome those who stood as witness of this marriage; our esteemed PRINCIPAL SPONSORS.
Let us introduce them one by one…
(I would like to request our principal sponsors to stand and wave your hand as we acknowledge
your presence to be recognized…)
starting off…. NINONG and NINANG

The Relatives
We would also like to acknowledge the relatives who have traveled many miles just to witness
this very memorable day.

The Couples Parents

EMCEE: One of the parents’ dreams is to see the wedding of their children. I am sure our
couple’s parents are equally excited as them. Let us now recognize these very special people in
the hearts of the newlywed.
Please be on your feet as we acknowledge the bride’s party. Put your hands together for the
mother of the Bride, Mrs. Catalina Lopez Castañeda and Mr. John Vergabera Castañeda Sr.
Also with us is the family of the groom to extend their love and witness this significant day. Join
me in welcoming representing the parents of the groom, herewith Mrs. Evelyn Reubal and Mr.
Anecito Dela Torre.

EMCEE: This evening calls for a grand celebration and it is our distinct pleasure to introduce to
you for the first time, Eldie and Cristy as husband and wife. A round of applause please.
To everyone present, and above all to our Almighty God to whom belongs the highest praise,
glory and honor. A minute of applause please.

Program Proper

EMCEE: To formally start the program proper, let us seek God’s guidance through an Opening
Prayer. May I request everyone to please stand and feel the presence of God.

OPENING PRAYER
Heavenly Father,
Love has been your richest and greatest gift to this world. You have the greatest love Lord,
because of giving us your one and only Son Jesus to die on the cross. This is for us to live a
blessed life here on earth and spend the rest of it in heaven for all eternity. As you are the Love
itself and have commanded us to love one another, Father today we celebrate that love. For the
love between Nelson and Gen that has now matured into marriage – we thank You. For Your
presence here and now and at all times in the life of the new couple and everyone present – we
praise and thank You. Protect, guide, and bless Eldie and Cristy. Give them wisdom in every
decision-making and may You be praised always upon their life together.
All these we ask, in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

(after the prayer)

CAKE CUTTING
EMCEE: At this point, ladies and gentlemen, I’d like to direct your attention at the couple as
they do the cake slicing.
We request the bride and groom to approach the wedding cake. Maid of honor, please assist.
Cake is a symbol of a happy married life that is filled with sweetness that the couple would enjoy
from this day forward. Let us pray that Eldie and Cristy will continue to share the sweetness of
love; that they will continue to live together with their hearts pure of joy in serving the Lord as
husband and wife and as a family. On the other hand, the cutting of the cake is a task full of
symbolism. The sharing of the groom and bride of the cake to one another symbolize their union
and their promise to forever provide for each other. It seems that our newlywed is ready. You
can now slice the cake.
(after the cutting) Let us give them a big hand. Now, it’s time for Eldie to serve Cristy
(after serving) This time it’s Cristy’s to serve Eldie.
(after serving) Once again, let us give a big hand to our newlywed.

BEST MAN TOAST

EMCEE: A celebration is never complete without a toast and a bottle of good wine. This time,
let’s fill our glasses with any drink that we could get and join , Mr. Joey Jay Pereno for the
symbolic wine toast.
(while waiting for the best man to approach the microphone)

EMCEE: The wine that the couple is about to share is a representation of life's adversities. Life
indeed is not a bed of roses, as Eldie and Cristy drink the wine; they affirm their pledge of
loyalty and fidelity even in the most trying times of their married life.
Bestman: (INSTRUCTIONS: Best Man raises his glass and addresses the newlyweds as he
speaks...)
(INSTRUCTIONS: Best Man still raising his glass and addresses the guests as he speaks...)
(INSTRUCTIONS: Best Man waits for everyone to stand up and see to it that everyone has
raised their glasses and then say…)
Here’s to good health, happiness, good fortune and prosperity to Eldie and Cristy. Cheers!!!
(Everyone makes a toasts and drinks from their glasses)
Thank you, ladies and gentlemen, you may now be seated.

EMCEE: Thank you Sir! Let us pray for their marriage to be like wine, the longer it is, the tastier
it becomes. Meaning the longer years spent together, the happier and joyful marriage life will
become for them.
I guess… the food is ready! You are all hereby invited to partake the dinner. Just sit back and
relax as the foods will be served to you in your respective tables. There are also available foods
at the buffet table.
Should you wish to add more food, feel free to do so.
EMCEE: We would like to acknowledge Villa Marcelina for the wonderful accommodation and
service that they are providing us here. (Pause)
Likewise, the couple is indeed grateful to all our guests today for responding affirmatively to the
invitation.
TABLE HOPPING FOR SOUVENIR PICTURES
EMCEE: At this point, the newlywed would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone
personally for your presence. Eldie and Cristy will now visit each table to have their souvenir
picture taken with their guests.

So ready your smiles and wacky posts.

(20 minutes)

EMCEE: Bago natin ipagpatuloy at bago marinig ang mga mensahe ng mga malalapit na tao sa
ating Newly Wed, let us have some fun and it’s time for the traditional bouquet throw. At this
point, I would like to request all the single ladies to come forward for the bouquet throw. I would
like also to request our beautiful bride to come forward.

Sa ating mga magagandang dalaga, pumwesto tayo sa likod ng ating bride. Sabi nila kung sino
man daw ang makaka kuha ng ating bouquet ay sya ang susunod na ikakasal. Ready na ba ang
lahat? Sabayan po ninyo ako, in Three, Two, One. And there it goes…
May I request for the lady who was able to catch the bouquet to please come forward.
Congratulations! May I have your name?

Palakpakan natin si Miss….. Please have a seat beside the bride and in a moment we shall fin
your match in the Garter Toss.

Before we go on with the garter toss, the groom is to retrieve the garter from his bride. So may I
request Kuya Eldie and Manang Lochie to please come to the center stage and do the garter
retrieval ritual.

Ladies and Gentleman the Groom will now retrieve the Garter from his Bride.

There you have it ladies and gentlemen, the groom was finally able to retieve the garter. Let us
give them a round of applause.

It is now the gentlemen’s turn and we will now do the garter toss. Sa lahat ng mga binate please
come forward.

Kagaya ng kanina, gentlemen please take your place sa likoran ng ating Groom. Ready na ba ang
lahat? At the count of three, two, one…. Off it goes!!!

MATCHMAKING RITUAL
May I request for the gentlemen with the quick hand who now have in his possession the garter.
Sir please come forward and take your place beside the lady who has the bouquet.
Congratulation!!! May I have your name?

Thank you Mr. ….., friends lets give this gentleman a big hand.

Now that we have already found a perfect match. The next Bride and Groom to be in the future.
It is time for another ritual. The gentleman who got the garter is to put it on the lady who got the
bouquet. At this point, may I request Ms. To please have a seat while Mr. will put the garter.

Ladies and gentlemen, Mr. will now put on the garter on Ms.

At this point, we request that both of you remain onstage for the picture taking. The newlyweds
will now pose with our lovely new pair.

There you have it. Our new lovely pair and if it would not be too much to ask, we would like the
gentleman to give a lady a quick kiss. Thank you so much for your participation at palakpakan
po natin sila.

MESSAGES FROM THE PRINCIPAL SPONSORS

EMCEE: Allow me to share to you a great quote by Aerosmith. <Life and especially life with
your husband is a journey, not a destination. There will always be something new to learn, there
will always be more things to gain, and there will always be plenty of opportunities for new
experiences! Marriage is a journey, which you and your husband are continuing on… whether
you enjoy that journey is up to you and him!
Let’s hear from our principal sponsors what they have to say about this. In the traditional
Filipino Christian wedding o sa ating mga pilipino, principal sponsors give support, guidance
and wisdom throughout the lives of the couples.

EMCEE: The words coming from our principal sponsors are necessary as Nelson and Gen face
twists and turns in their married life. In behalf of the male principal sponsors, please welcome
Mr. Romulo Corpuz.

EMCEE: Thank you Nong JR for that personal advice for our newlywed. So, that was a word
coming from a husband, now let’s hear some words from a wife and see the difference, if there
would be any. Let’s call on one of our Maid of Honor Ms. Critsen Lopez Balad-on.
(after the speech)

MESSAGES FROM THE PARENTS

Princess: Thank you Nang! (pause) Eldie and Cristy are both products of parents, whose
unconditional love brought them to this day. The guidance, care and provisions of their parents
from the day they were born up to this very moment is a priceless treasure that they always
cherish. Everyone, let us hear words of encouragement and advise from the parents of the
newlywed. Present here is the mother of the bride, Mrs. Catalina Lopez Castañeda. Around of
applause please.
(talks)
EMCEE: Thank you Mama.

First Dance of the Newlyweds (music: Born for You)

EMCEE: As the saying goes, <It takes two to tango.= Ladies and gentlemen, it is once again my
privilege to present to you Mr and Mrs Eldie Reubal for their First Dance.
(Newlyweds dances their First Dance)
Background Music: *song
(in the middle of the couple’s dance)

EMCEE: The first dance of the groom and bride is a symbol of their life starting together.
From our ninong and ninang, relatives, family friends (pinning money)

Let us now proceed to opening of gifts. These gifts that we have here provide memories of a
lifetime. It is to show the sincerity of our guests in supporting our newlywed’s decision to start a
family life. Let us start sa pinaka malaking regalo.

EMCEE: Let us now see. The gift is from _________. May we request the bride and the groom
to open the gift? The gift is _________. Thank you.
EMCEE: (do the same for the smallest gift)
THANK YOU MESSAGE OF THE COUPLE
EMCEE: The day and this reception have almost come to an end pero sa ating bagong mag-
asawa ito ay simula pa lamang nang kanilang panibagong pagsasama. As we each go home, may
this day be memorable for all of us as it is to them. To personally convey their heartfelt gratitude
let us now lend an ear to Eldie and Cristy.
(message of the newlywed)

GIVING OF TOKENS
Jemar: Thank you Kuya and Manang! We are truly grateful not only for the presence but also the
wonderful cooperation of our principal and secondary sponsors as well as the other members of
the entourage.

CLOSING WORDS
EMCEE: It takes a strong and intelligent man to realize his dreams and achieve his goals in life
and love. A man that is not afraid to live life to its fullest and embrace what is trulyimportant.
I’m here to talk about Kuya Eldie and Manang Cristy. Two people who come together today to
form a union that will surely last forever.
We have finally come to the end of our program. It has been a great day and a wonderful day
with you all. Once again, on behalf of the newlywed, thank you for joining us on this very
memorable event. God bless and good day to each and everyone. To God be the Glory now and
forever!
