Overview of

System Analysis
Systems analysis studies sets of
interacting entities, including computer
systems. This field is closely related to
operations research. It is also "an explicit
formal carried out to help, referred to as
the decision maker, identify a better
course of action.
What is System Analyst?
The system analyst is the person (or
persons) who guides the
development of an information
system. In performing these tasks, the
analyst must always match the
information system objectives with the
goals of the organization.
Roles of System Analyst
1) System analysis
It includes a system study in order to get facts about
business requirements.
2) System design
Apart from the analysis work, the System analyst is also
responsible for designing of the new system/application.
3) Systems Programming
The System Analyst is also required to perform as a
programmer, where he writes the code to implement the
design of the proposed application.

1. Communication –
is necessary to establish a proper
relationship between the system analyst
and the user to easily assess the
business requirements of the clients.

2. Understanding –
• Understanding of the objectives of the
organization.
• Understanding the problems of the system.
• Understanding the information given by the
user or employee of the organization.

3. Salesmanship –
The ideas of the system analyst are his
products which he sells to the manager of
a particular organization. The system
analyst must have not only the ability to
create ideas but also to sell his ideas.

A system analyst must have teaching
skills. He must have the ability to teach
team members and users. He must
teach about the new system and the
proper use of the new system.

5. Innovative –
An analyst is an agent of change, he or she
must have the ability to show all the benefits
of the candidate system with the new
technological advancement, and he must
know about Email, Internet Advance graphics,
Server based networking, Network technology
etc.
