B-1

The document provides a beam analysis for Beam Tag B-1, detailing design parameters, material properties, and reinforcement specifications. It includes calculations for compression block depth and moment capacity, confirming that the actual moment capacity exceeds the calculated value. The analysis indicates that the beam is tension controlled and meets the necessary safety requirements.

BEAM ANALYSIS

CALCULATIONS
INPUT Beam Tag: B-1

Design Parameters: Material Properties:

Beam width, b = 200.00 mm Concrete Compressive Strenght, f'c = 20.70 N/mm2
Beam depth, h = 350.00 mm Reinf. Steel Yield Strenght, fy = 228.00 N/mm2
Beam effective depth, d = 292.00 mm Ec = 21384 MPa
Top concrete cover, d' = 58.00 mm Es = 200000 MPa

Reinforcement:
Layer Diameter Qty. Area
Top 16 mm 2 pcs 402.12 mm2
Middle 12 mm 2 pcs 226.19 mm2
Bottom 16 mm 3 pcs 603.19 mm2

ETABS 2015 RESULTS

Actual Mu = 25.51 kN-m

ANALYSIS

I. COMPRESSION BLOCK DEPTH

Assume that steel reinforcement will yield,
C=T
0.85f'cab = Asfy
a= 39.08 mm
Verify assumption,
fs = 600(d-c)/c
where, c = a/β
c= 45.98 mm
fs = 3211 MPa >1000 Mpa OK!
Thus,
a= 39.08 mm

II. MOMENT CAPACITY

Mu = φ0.85fc'ab(d-a/2)
Since fs > 1000 Mpa, Tension controlled,
φ = 0.90
Mu = 33.72 kN-m > Actual Mu OK!
