1. For singular possessive nouns, add an apostrophe + s before / after the noun.
2. For plural possessive nouns, add an apostrophe / apostrophe + s after the final s.
3. Irregular plural nouns follow the same rule as singular / plural possessive nouns.

PART 1 Present continuous: Statements
Study the Examples
Read the statements with the present continuous.
I am sharing my screen.
You’re using the wrong cable.
She is charging her battery.
They are sending the reports.
I’m not logging off. I’m plugging in my headphones.
We aren’t using headphones.
She’s not working right now.

Figure Out the Rules


Look at the examples again. Complete the rules. Circle the answer.
1. Use the correct form of be / do + verb + -ing in present continuous sentences.
2. We can / can’t contract the subject + be.
3. We can / can’t contract be + not in negative statements.
4. For verbs that end in a vowel and a consonant, double the vowel / consonant and add -ing.
5. For verbs that end in e, drop / double the e and add -ing.

PART 2 Present continuous: Questions

Read the questions in the present continuous and the answers.
