Home – Living Room – Evening
Imelda ( Wife ), dressed in her usual duster, was sweeping the floor and is
listening to the news. While Alberto ( Husband ), is preparing for his
pamamasahe Suddenly, Imelda stopped sweeping and focused her attention
to the News about the Bagyong Odette.
Imelda
Alberto! Did you hear the news?
Typhoon Odette is going to landfall today. It’s dangerous
outside. Are you sure you’re still going ?
Alberto

(Went up to her) Yeah! I heard it but it’s just going

to be a mild storm and you know I can’t afford to
not go byahe. We need the money
Imelda

Forget about the money Alberto.

Think about what will happen to you if you go outside in that storm
What do you think we would feel ?Please Alberto, stay.
( grabbed alberto’s hand )
Alberto

( gently put his hand over Imelda’s hand ) Imelda, don’t worry I got this.
How can I go and make a living for our kids if you’re here
stopping me from doing so.
Imelda

B-but ( cut off )

Alberto

Please mahal, I’ll get going now.

I’ll be back soon I promise. ( put his other hand on Imelda’s check )
Imelda
( was dismayed ) Alright then. See you soon and take care, alright
Imelda watched Alberto as he go. She prayed and hoped that her husband
will be safe.

Faded in: Second Scene
Street – Mid afternoon
Alberto roam around the city driving his potpot until it was mid afternoon. It
was raining heavily and the wind started to get a bit strong , he found a
passenger, at last. Alberto went up to her.
Alberto
Ineng, do you need a ride? Where are you headed?

Passenger
(nodded and quickly went to the potpot)
Nong, can you take me to ( place )

Alberto nodded and started to paddle.

During the ride

Alberto
The rain and wind kept getting stronger don’t they ?

Passenger
They are! I heard that there’s a bagyo, Nong

Alberto
Yeah right! My wife told me it was bagyong Odette. She was worried
that the bagyo may be strong but I think it’ll just be any other
rainy days

The passengers agreed and they went on. As Alberto continued to drive, he
paddled stronger and the rain was pouring harder and harder.

Alberto
Is this it, Ineng?

Passenger
Oo nong, Salamat ( she handed her payment )
Nong, I think you should go home. The winds and rain are getting stronger
already

Alberto
I’ll be fine, Ineng. ( he smiled and left )
 Faded in: Third Scene
Home – Living Room – Evening
Imelda and her two children, Efren and Bellita, stayed at their living room.
As the strong rain hit their roof, Imelda’s heart started to pound hard. Her
two child are crying, waiting for their father to come back. Imelda’s eyes are
starting to form a tear.

Efren
Mama, Is papa gonna be okay ? ( slowly wiping his eyes )

Bellita
What if he’s hurt mama ? ( cried loudly )

Imelda
( she went to them ) No, He’s gonna be okay ( she said with tears in her eyes
)
Efren and Bellita, Let’s stay here and stick to each other okay ?

Imelda gently hugged them and then looked at the door hoping alberto’s
gonna be fine.

Faded in: Fourth Scene

Streets _ Evening

Bagyong Odette has become stronger, so Alberto pedaled harder and harder,
but the wind just pushed him away. He tried with all his might, but it wasn’t
enough. Until he heard a strong creaking sound. A big branch fell over him,
and it was too late; he got hit!
Black out ( ere background noise )

keeps pouring at him

Marites was banging the door and Imelda opened it quickly with a worry
expression
Marites
Are you guys okay ?
Imelda
We’re fine
Marites
Where is Alberto ?
Imelda
( Cried harder ) We don’t know
Marites
( Disbelief expression ) Imelda, I think you should see this

Marites pulled Imelda and they went to a place where their were a lot of
people.

Tanod 1
Please stand back
Tanod 2 and 3
( Carried a big branch and put it away )
Imelda’s heart was pounding, and she started to push the person in front of
her away. She saw the lifeless body of a man, and it was her husband. She
quickly went to her husband. The Tanods tried to stop her, but they knew
right away that she was related to the lifeless man.

Imelda
( cried with agony ) N- NOOOO !!
( She gently caressed the face of Alberto )
Imelda was shattered that she didn’t even know that her kids went to her
crying
Sad music – Black out
 Faded in : Sixth Scene
Cemetery – Morning
Imelda and her kids were crying in front of their father, who is in a coffin.
Their faces were painted with agony and hopelessness, knowing that they
couldn’t see their father again.
