REFLECTIVE JOURNAL
TITLE OF ACTIVITY: Prize Giving Ceremony
ASPECT THAT STRUCK ME AS IMPORTANT
On the 24th of June I got to attend a prestigious Prize Giving Ceremony. It was such an honour to
attend and be part of such an event. It was fascinating to see that a lot of students were lined up to
collect their prizes. It was a smooth event full of students who had all performed outstandingly.

TEACHERS’ AND STUDENTS’ FEELINGS


I was particularly impressed and happy to see that a lot of students got to be gifted Prizes of
Excellence. It was a fascinating moment because never in my life had I seen so many students
queued up to receive Prizes. The students were all to eager to get their respective prizes. Their joy
filled and spread through the leaders and teachers present there.

SIGNIFICANCE OF THE INCIDENT


This incident inspired me to be a better teacher because I realised that the achievements of the
respective students reflected purely on my teaching strategies and just how effective we as
teachers should be at imparting knowledge. The students were filled with inspiration and
motivation to work harder and improve their current marks/grades.
WHAT CAUSED THE OBSERVED INCIDENT?
I believed the constructive advice and the eternal dedication of teacher to students’ academic
progress led to this prestigious moment which resulted in such an excellent performance. The
students clearly paid attention to constructive lesson and actively took charge of the
education by working hard and striving to be the best.
WHAT IT MEANS
This situation taught me a great deal about the impact that a teacher-student relationship can
have on a general academic advancement of students. The focused delivery of content and
knowledge by teachers in partnership with students’ hard work and dedication brought about
this moment.
IMPLICATIONS FOR MY PRACTICUM
It is my intention to be dedicated to the students’ academic needs, to be helpful and offer
continued constructive advice to the students which would be beneficial to their academic
standing. Sticking to my teaching philosophy will prove to be advantageous to the students
and myself therefore I plan to stick to it.
