SANTIAGO CITY ON DIGITAL CASHLESS TRANSACTION

Technological adoption: The willingness and ability of SMEs to adopt and

utilize digital payment systems and infrastructure.

A conceptual framework for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) readiness on digital
cashless transactions can be structured around several key elements. These include
technological infrastructure, financial literacy, data security, customer awareness, and
government support. The technological infrastructure should ensure seamless integration of
digital payment systems into SMEs' operations. Financial literacy should equip business
owners with the knowledge to navigate digital transactions safely. Data security measures
protect sensitive information from cyber threats. Customer awareness campaigns promote
the adoption of cashless transactions among customers. Lastly, government support through
policies and incentives can facilitate a smooth transition for SMEs towards digital cashless

Investigating the Adoption of Digital Payment System through an

Extended Technology Acceptance Model: an Insight from the
Indonesian Small and Medium Enterprises

Digitalization in the payment system has been promoted by the

Indonesian government since the government is targeting to
become the largest digital economy in Southeast Asia. However,
not all companies can adopt digital payments quickly. Small and
Medium Enterprises (SMEs) have many obstacles to adopt
innovative technologies, mainly due to a lack of knowledge and
resources. On the other hand, many consumers are getting used to
digital payments and demanding SMEs to facilitate their
transaction processes with digital payment systems. Therefore, the
primary purpose of this study is to analyze factors affecting the
digital payment system adoption in SMEs, particularly small and
medium-sized restaurants. It used an extended Technology
Acceptance Model (TAM) as a theoretical framework. Thus, 120
data were gathered using self-administered questionnaires from
owners or managers of small and medium-sized restaurants in
Bogor, Indonesia. Structural Equation Modeling with Partial Least
Square (SEM-PLS) was employed to assess the hypotheses that
were developed. The findings suggested that the intention to use
digital payment was determined by the perceived ease of usage,
perceived usefulness, attitude towards digital payment, and trust.
This research approved that the applicability of TAM with the
inclusion of additional variables in the model and the adoption of
the digital payment system in small and medium-sized restaurants
in developing countries like Indonesia. It offers valuable
information for policymakers and financial institutions such as
banks in understanding the critical variables influencing large scale
implementation of the digital payment system in Indonesia.

Effect of Cashless Economy on Micro, Small and Medium

Enterprises (MSMEs): A Study from Indian Perspective

The present study is to examine the impact of cashless monetary

policy on micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in India.
The government’s initiative towards cashless economy triggers
with demonetisation of high denomination currencies. Cashless
economy is a financial environment that minimises the use of
physical cash by providing alternative channels for making
payments, and fosters a clean and digital economic culture.
Demonetisation, for a while, slows down all economic activities and
imputes to use digital mode for transactions. The MSMEs prefer to
do all its transactions with conventional mode; sudden move by the
demonetisation severely affected the MSME sector. Stringent
reactive policies are required to this segment for surviving in a
cashless economy. Economic reform without considering MSMEs
will result negative impacts, it acts as a mediating role in economic
growth. Currently the dealers and customers are adopting digital
infrastructure and slowly it will create a digital economic culture.
The objective of the study is to determine possible implications of a
cashless economy on micro small medium enterprises in India. It
also discusses challenges that MSMEs would face in a cashless
society and points out some possible solutions. The study is based
on secondary data and simple statistical tools are used for analysis.
