Product Code Recommendations

Recommended Code
At the time of this publication, PowerProtect Cyber Recovery (CR) 19.13.0.2 / CyberSense (CS)
8.2.0-1 is the recommended code level. Upgrade directly to CR 19.13.0.2 is available from CR 19.4 or
later. Please consider updating CyberSense with available Monthly patches.

Notes:
• Latest Cyber Recovery Virtual Appliance OS Security Patch (CR OVA) should be applied
separately and is available on DELL Support Portal.
• Latest CyberSense Virtual Appliance OS Security Patch (CS OVA) should be applied
separately and is available on DELL Support Portal.

Recent Product Release Information


The release of PowerProtect Cyber Recovery 19.13 and CyberSense 8.2 expands the Cyber
Recovery ecosystem to protect critical data from cyberattacks with flexible deployments and recovery
options to all three major public clouds.
At the time of the publication, PowerProtect Cyber Recovery 19.13.0.2 with CyberSense 8.2.0-1.23 is
the most recent release of Cyber Recovery Solution.
Notes:
• Latest OS Security Patch for Cyber Recovery 19.4-19.13 can be found on DELL Support
Portal.
• Latest OS Repo Bundle for CyberSense 8.0-8.2 can be found on DELL Support Portal.
• CyberSense release 8.2.0-1.12 and DELL CyberSense 8.2 OVA (build 8.2.0-1.12_b11) shall
not be used for upgrade / deploy purposes and shall be discarded (if already downloaded).
• Please refer to PowerProtect Cyber Recovery 19.13 and CyberSense 8.2 Release Notes
documents for current list of all Known Issues / Limitations.

If you are still using a PowerProtect Cyber Recovery / CyberSense version that already reached the
EOSS date, an upgrade to latest PowerProtect Cyber Recovery / CyberSense is highly
recommended.

VMware vSphere 6.7 support for Customers running IDPA and


PowerProtect DP Series Software version 2.5 through 2.7.2
Important Notice

1. Your appliance uses VMware vSphere 6.7 as the virtual infrastructure to run the protection
software, backup and management VMs.
2. VMware has announced the End of General Support (EOGS) for vSphere 6.7 on October 15,
2022.
3. After this EOGS date, there will be no change to how Dell provides end-to-end product support
for all IDPA and DP Series appliances under Standard Support. Any IDPA or DP Series
appliance Service Requests (including vSphere 6.7 related issues) raised by customers will be
handled by Dell Technical Support, as usual.
4. Future planned DP Series software releases will contain vSphere 7.0. Information about
upcoming DP Series software releases will be communicated as they become available.
5. As a reminder, any updates made to vSphere software without using published DP Series
software releases can result in product failures and void product warranty.

Known Issues / Updates

PowerProtect Cyber Recovery: Jobs May Fail


PowerProtect Cyber Recovery jobs may start failing post Vault Data Domain becomes full. This issue
may continue post the space is cleared on the Vault Data Domain. For further details and resolution,
please use the KB 190517. To avoid this issue, please ensure that you are monitoring and taking
appropriate actions on your Data Domain alerts about High Capacity usage.

PowerProtect Cyber Recovery: Time changes may cause schedule issues


Time changes and / or daylight savings changes in the spring and fall, may cause schedules to run
an hour late or early. For further details and resolution, please use KB 197427.
Note: Issue is fixed in PowerProtect Cyber Recovery 19.13 (Cyber Recovery 19.12.0.2 also has the
fix).

As a best practice, we recommend that:
● Admin users perform Cyber Recovery operations, and management and maintenance tasks.
● Security officers perform security tasks such as managing users, log in count, and so on.
