Some tips for taking better notes:


 Listen actively!
 Look through the headings and sub-headings.
 Do not note down everything!
 Listen for cues and note down the key information.
 Write phrases, not full sentences.
 Use symbols and abbreviations.
 Keep going if you fall behind or miss something.
