The Colour Box V2 has a combo XLR & 1/4” instrument input jack. Run any instrument or INST/XLR SWITCH - This switch lets you choose between 1/4” instrument input or XLR
microphone into the Colour Box and select which input you are using with the INST/XLR input. Set the switch to INST when plugging in a 1/4” jack. Set the switch to XLR when

CONTROLS INPUT & OUTPUT FUNCTIONALITY

MASTER - This is the overall master volume for the unit. It works in tandem with the PRE- INSTRUMENT INPUT MODE - When plugging in a 1/4” instrument cable, you can use
VOL. For cleaner sounds, set the MASTER higher and the PRE-VOL lower. As you turn up the Colour Box like an effect pedal or as an always on DI for bass, acoustic, or any other

PRE-VOL - The PRE-VOL acts as a “gain” or “drive” knob, adding grit, distortion and fuzz use an effect pedal. You can also run both 1/4” and XLR outputs in parallel when using it
as you turn it up. In this circuit, the PRE-VOL is between the two gain stages, and the as an effect pedal, though the XLR output will be disengaged when the pedal is off. This
setting of the PRE-VOL determines how much signal continues to the second stage. is useful especially in recording situations where you want to send your signal to an
amplifi er and direct-in to a console or preamp. When using the Colour Box as a DI,
STEP - The STEP gain changes the gain of each preamp stage in fi ve stages. Rotating you can use the XLR output to plug straight into an audio mixer or recording interface
the STEP knob from left-to-right will increase the gain by the following: 1st is + 18 dB, and there is no need to use a separate direct-box. In an always-on circumstance, the 1/4"

HI-PASS - The HI-PASS spans from 60Hz to 800Hz with a 6dB per octave slope. This ON, this allows you to split your signal to two separate sources at the same time. The
control allows you to only let high frequencies pass. The toggle switch below the knob XLR output will only pass signal when the Colour box is turned on.

The Colour Box V2 runs 9V DC negative center power ONLY and consumes 193mA. Do
not run on anything greater than 9V.
