User Self Service
To do this, you would first need to enrol yourself into this system:
1. Please visit the URL and enter AIS Username and password to enrol as Image 1 shown.

3. Please follow the steps as of Image 3 and select 2 Questions from the list and enter Answers.

4. The answer to the question above should have at least 5 characters and not more than 255
characters as per image 4.
If you type less than 5 charactors or more than 255 character the following alert screen
(image 4) will apear, then press OK to continue.

5. Otherwise as per image 3 or point 3 click next where you will be navigated to the next
screen as per Image 5 below

6. From Image 5 you can save Recovery Codes just in case you do not remember the answers
of any 2-security question selected. Click on “MFA Recovery” from image 5 to obtain the
keys and save them. Codes will be displayed as per image 6

You have now completed your enrolment process, and ready to change your password when you
require.
7. To change your current password, Click on Change Password Menu Item after successful
login using your current password. Password requirement must be Complex, AIS password
must consist of not less than 12 characters with at least one Capital, one Number and a
special character and must be different to the last 3 old passwords, follow the instructions
and then click “Change Password” button as per image 7.

If you forgot your password, please visit the URL https://adm.ais.ac.nz and the screen will appear as
per image, then click on Forgot your password and you will be prompted to image 9, and you need
to enter your AIS username and Captcha as per image 9 and click Continue

8. You will be prompted the security questions which were selected during enrolment and
enter the correct answers for the security questions and type the Captcha then click
“Continue” button as image 10

9. Answered to the questions will be verified, after successful verification, you will be
prompted to enter your new password where the password requirement has been
mentioned in Point 7. After entering the new password, re-type your new password in
Confirm new password box and enter Captcha and click Reset Password button as per image

10. If you do not remember your security answers, as per Point 8, select “backup code” which is
located at the bottom of the captcha and you will be taken to a new page which looks like
image 12. Copy backup verification code from the location you had previously identified
location in Point 7, paste/type the code and enter captcha. Click Continue button after
successful verification you be taken a page as of Point 10/Image 11.

11. AIS accounts will be automatically unlocked every 15 minutes, but if you need to urgently log
into AIS applications while your account is locked, then please follow the step as of image 13
from the URL https://adm.ais.ac.nz:8888. Select “Account locked down” and Enter your AIS
username and Captcha as of image 13. Press “Continue” button.

12. You will be taken next screen as of image 14 and follow the required information as it could
be found in Point 9 and Point 11.

13. After successful verification you will be taken to the new page. Enter Captcha and select
Unlock account button as image 15.

14. To use your mobile apps to do the above, please follow the instruction from point 15 and
that depend on the type of device you are using.

devices.

Note: You need to connect the mobile app with the ADSelfService Plus server. For more
details on how to set up the mobile apps, click here
You can also access the self-service portal directly from the browser of your mobile devices.
b. Type the access URL of the ADSelfService portal and enter your Windows domain
credentials.
II. Tap the Scan QR Code button located at the bottom-left corner.
III. Select the Mobile Access button located in the ADSelfService Plus user portal webpage, or
the reset password/account unlock page.
18. All the server details are automatically updated in your ADSelfService Plus mobile app.
