INTRODUCTION

 The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 envisages the promotion of quality
research within the Higher Education system. Research and innovation are two
inherently important aspects to ensure quality education by the Higher Education
Institutions (HEIs). Societal needs of our country can only be addressed by having a
strong knowledge, skill, value and research oriented vibrant higher education
ecosystem for sustainable development. The integration of Research, Innovation and
Technology Development is the foundation of Atma-Nirbhar Bharat (Self-reliant
India). An institutionalization of Research Internship at Undergraduate Levels is
expected to play a pivotal role in catalysing inter
disciplinary/multi-disciplinary/transdisciplinary and translational research culture
embedded in NEP 2020.
 These internship programs aim primarily at employability of students and specified
the outcomes by competencies desired at industrial centres. The newly introduced
course structure in the NEP2020 envisages the integration of research component in
degree programs and specifically for the Four-Year Degree Program with bachelor’s
degree (research) has the fourth year focussed on developing research competencies
in students.

OBJECTIVES

 An internship is gaining first-hand experience by an individual besides


comprehending the way of working in an organisation, leading to improve the skill
aptitude for a specific job or job role and building research capabilities with learning
opportunities. Internships should be such organized that benefits the research intern as
well as the internship providing organization.
Following are the intended objectives of engaging undergraduate students in internship for
employability and research internship programmes
1. Integration of workshop with workplace
2. Understanding of the world of work
3. Developing research aptitude
4. Exposure in emerging technologies
5. Enhance entrepreneurial capabilities
6. Development of decision-making and teamwork skills
7. Enhancing professional competency

Guidelines The Preparation of Project Report / Internship / Online Course

As part of our commitment to providing diverse and enriching learning experiences, KN


University offers you the opportunity to choose between two options for Project Report or
Internship at any company or Industry.

Option 1: Project Report in any company or Industry.

1. Select any one Sector or Industry for Project Report (Secondary Data)
2. Select one Company or Organisation for Project Report (Primary & Secondary
Data)
 You'll be able to apply your theoretical knowledge in practical settings, gain valuable
insights into industry practices, and contribute to meaningful projects under the
guidance of experienced mentors.

Option 2: Internship at Any Company or Organization for Project Report


(Minimum 4 week)

 Alternatively, you can opt for an internship at any company or organization / Industry
of your choice. This option allows you to immerse yourself in a professional work
environment, explore different career paths, and build valuable networks within your
chosen industry. You'll have the opportunity to develop essential skills, gain hands-on
experience, and make meaningful contributions to your host organization.

OPTION - 1

Guidelines for The Preparation of Project Report On Industry/Sector

 As part of your academic journey at KN University, you have the opportunity to


embark on a project report focusing on any industry or sector of your choice.
 This project will not only deepen your understanding of real-world applications but
also enable you to showcase your analytical and research skills. To ensure the success
of your project, we have outlined the following guidelines:
 The report should be brief, with the number of pages of the main content of the report
being not be more than 30 pages to 40 Pages.

Selection of Industry/Sector:

 Choose an industry or sector that aligns with your academic interests, career goals,
and the requirements of your program. Consider factors such as industry trends,
market demand, and your personal passion for the subject matter.

Submission and Evaluation:

 Submit your completed project report by the specified deadline, adhering to any
submission guidelines provided by your department or program. Your project report
will be evaluated based on criteria such as originality, depth of analysis, clarity of
presentation, and adherence to guidelines.

FORMAT FOR PREPARING THE PROJECT REPORT

 The write-up should focus on the specific objectives of the project, the methodology
used, and the major findings. Regarding title, instead of giving a general, topic-like
title, be specific and emphasize the explicit nature of the work.

 Each undergraduate student may also complete first research internship of 4 weeks’
duration after 1st year and second research internship of 10 weeks’ duration after 2nd
year of graduate degree programme.

The Duration of Research Internships and corresponding are mentioned below:

 Research interns in research labs/institutions will get exposure to a real-world work

Supervisor at least one day prior to availing leave except emergency.

The evaluation of research internship will be carried out at following stages:

1. Evaluation by the internship supervisor for KN University.


2. Evaluation through seminar presentation/viva-voce at the KN University.

 ODL and online education provide a natural path to increase access to quality higher
education. In order to leverage its potential completely, ODL will be renewed through
concerted, evidence-based efforts towards expansion while ensuring adherence to
clearly articulated standards of quality. ODL programmes will aim to be equivalent to
the highest quality in-class programmes available. Norms, standards, and guidelines
for systemic development, regulation, and accreditation of ODL will be prepared, and
a framework for quality of ODL that will be recommendatory for all HEIs will be
developed.
 Finally, all programmes, courses, curricula, and pedagogy across subjects, including
those in class, online, and in ODL modes as well as student support will aim to
achieve global standards of quality.
