Social factors are things that affect the life, thoughts, functions and behavior of people in
society. These factors have a great influence on the economic growth of the country. When
people have good education, it helps the country's economy to grow. If a society has stable
and strong cultural values, it creates a good atmosphere for economic development. People
do more cooperation that helps the country's economy become more stable and grow. On the
other hand, economic growth suffers when people are not satisfied or do not have equal
access to education and health.
Here I take Pakistan as an example to explain the social impact of economic development.
Social factors greatly affect the economic development of Pakistan and lead to economic
instability. There are many social factors that affect Pakistan's economic development over
time. Here I will talk about issues like political conflict, illiteracy, unemployment.
“Social factors are not mere influencer’s, they are the architects
shaping a country’s economic destiny.”
"Political instability is a situation where people are no longer connected. This means that the
political system of a country is not good or unknown. This conflict directly affects the
economy and economy of Pakistan. Political instability is negatively related to economic
growth. Political conflict- the greater the resistance, the greater the uncertainty of economic
policy that will cause the economy to decline. During the operation of the PPP system, the
country's economic growth decreased from 2008 to 2013. The level of inequality in 2013 was
-2.6%, compared to -2.4% in 2008.
The next relationship is illiteracy. Those who cannot read and write are called illiterate. This
is one of the biggest social problems in the country that affects not only the people but also
the society. Pakistan has many rural areas and a high illiteracy rate. The current literacy rate
is 58%, and 42% illiterate. Our country suffers from low GDP, poverty, conflict, etc. suffer.
Therefore, education affects the economic development of the country.
“There are worse crimes than burning books. One of them is not
reading them”
Another social situation is people who are looking for work but can't find it. High
unemployment in a country is bad for the economy. Unemployment is a huge problem in the
economy. High unemployment means a country's GDP shrinks and economic growth slows
down. Unemployment in Pakistan is 6.80%. Population growth, illiteracy, electricity etc.
which is the main cause of unemployment. The inability of uneducated people to find suitable
jobs increases unemployment.
“Unemployment does not just effect wallets, it steals dreams and stifles
a nation’s progress.”
In short, making sure the government works well by promoting a stable democracy, helping
more people get literate through special education efforts, and creating jobs to reduce
unemployment are really important. These good steps together make it possible for
Pakistan to have a successful and steady economy in the future. If we focus on these
important social issues, the country can reach its full potential and keep growing
economically and socially.
