1. In an isosceles triangle the length of each of two equal sides of the triangle is a, unequal side
is b and each of the base angles has a measure of θ.
i. Verify the area of the triangle is A = a 2 sin θ cos θ
ii. If the angle between the equal sides is 90˚, then find the value of sin θ + cos θ
iii. a. If Area = 60 unit2 and θ =30˚ , then find the value of a2
(or)

b. If θ =30˚, then find the area of the given triangle

2. Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund (PMNRF) was established to help the families of
earthquake affected village. The allotment officer is trying to come up with a method to
calculate fair division of funds across various affected families so that the fund amount and
amount received per family can be easily adjusted based on daily revised numbers.
The total fund allotted is formulated by the officers as 20x2 +7x+6. The officer has also
divided the fund equally among families of the village and each family receives an amount of
x2+2x+1. After distribution, an amount of 11x+1 should be left to have some buffer for futer
disbursements.
i. If an amount of Rs. 540 is left after distribution, what is value of x in rupees?
ii. How much amount (in rupees) does each family receive?
iii. a. What is the allocated amount of fund in rupees?

b. If x=52, then find the amount each family would receive. Also, find increase in
amount in rupees.

3. Governing council of a local public development authority of Dehradun decided to build an


adventurous playground on the top of a hill, which will have adequate space for parking.
After survey, it was decided to build rectangular, with a semi-circular area allotted for
parking at one end of the playground. The length and breadth of the rectangular playground
are 14 units and 7 units respectively. There are two quadrants of radius 2 units on one side
for special seats.

i. What is the total perimeter of the parking area


ii. Find the cost of fencing the playground and playing area at the rate of Rs. 2 per unit.
iii. A. What is the total area of parking and the two quadrants.
(or)

b. What is the ratio of area of playground to the area of parking area?

4. A group of students to volunteer are working in making a safety board for school. They
prepared on triangular safety board for their school with title “School Ahead” and “Drive
slow” in two parts of the triangular board are shown in below figure.
Based on the above information, answer the following questions.

ii. If ∠A = 60˚ and ∠ADE = 50˚, then find ∠C


i. Show that ΔADE is similar to ΔABC

iii. a. If AD = 2cm, BD = 5 cm and AE = 3cm, then find EC.

b. If AD = 3cm, AB=9cm, BC=6cm, then find DE.

5. Vocational training complements traditional education by providing practical skills and hands
on experience. While education equips individuals with a board knowledge base, vocational
training focuses on job-specific skills, enhancing employability thus making the student self-
reliant. Keeping this in view, a teacher made the following table giving the frequecy
distribution of students/adults undergoing vocational training from the training institute.
