A true love story, a remarkable love story that has lasted 34 years! How did Dr. Jerry & Ms. Angie meet?
girl the question just arises naturally! At 34 I had my surgery to remove the breast cancer cells, and all I had left were my intercostals and ribs. At that point I had known Jerry for a while, but it was only a professional relationship. I was a nurse at the hospital where he worked so it wasnt a romantic thing! When he found out I had cancer, he was there for me, like all my other friends and colleagues. As I was coming in and out of therapy and after desperately questioning God, why me? I was afraid for my life. I was a 34-year old single girl that was never going to get married (that was my thing) being cut short of life. I took a deep breath and settled down. I was asleep, but suddenly I feltsomething. I felt something in my Spirit. And He said: Angie, dont you know that I love you? I just thought, whoa! What was that? I didnt know what it was. But then bang, He said it again, Angie, dont you know that I love you? I was in shock. I was completely bewildered until I heard it a third time, Angie, dont you know that I love you? The third time I got it! I realized, opened

Dont you know I love you?

Dr. Jerry & Ms. Angie at Fort Shafter in Honolulu, Hawaii Valentines Day recently passed and now that the chocolatiers, jewelers, and florists have made enough money out of us to keep business going for another year, what are we left with? For most people, the answer is, Nothing. Valentines Day is supposedly a day of love, unfortunately the twisted idea of love that we find smothered with lust and neediness in the world today is a pathetic excuse for it. Love is patient, its kind, it doesnt envy or boast, and its not proud. True love is not self-seeking, its not easily angered and it keeps no record of wrongs. And love most definitely doesnt mean one-night stands and heart-shaped jewellery. Ms. Angie and Dr. Jerry brown have lived out the true definition of love for the past 34 years of their marriage. Stories like theirs are ones we should praise and celebrate onValentines; this is their beautiful and blessed truelove story told by Ms. Angie herself: People are always asking themselves if he/she is the right one; when theyre getting married to a guy or a

my eyes, and there was a wall to wall family and the bulb lit up! Ofcourse! He loves me! He loves me through the people He puts in front of me! I looked carefully and right in the middle of this Mexican family was this tall gringo! And I thought to myself: Lord, these are my family, what is he doing here?! Anyhow, I got to explain to my family that the big Guy loves me, and that it was going to be okay, but at the end of the day Jerry never left. Jerry never did leave and it was only a couple of months later when he said: I think we should get married. I had, at the time, already started chemo and it was going to effect the child bearing issue. But Jerry said, No, its you! I want to marry you; fine we wont have any child, as long as its you. I thought of when I woke up that day, months back, and how God chose him, Jerrry, when he was one of the people right in front of me. I said yes; we got married. And here we are 34 years later and all I can say is, the guy really struggled with me! Hes definitely the right one.

Sulaymaniyah is a beautiful city in Kurdistani Iraq. It is surrounded by the Azmar Range, Goyzha Range, and the Qaiwan Range. It has a great history that deserves some attention. The modern city of Sulaymaniah was founded on 14 November 1784 by the Kurdish prince Ibrahim Pasha Baban who named it after his father Sulaiman Pasha. Prior to the founding of this city, the region of Sulaymaniah was known as Zamawa. In 1783, Ibrahim Pasha became ruler of the Emirate Kurds ruling the city and began the construction of a new city which would become the capital of the Baban Empire. In 1784, he finished constructing a number of trading palaces called Qaiseries and Bazars, which were used as baths as wells, and began inviting people from the surrounding villages to move in to the newly established city.

The Interesting History of Slemani!

Since its founding, Sulaymaniah has been the center of Kurdish nationalism, and it was there that Mahmud Barzingi sparked the first rebellion against the British occupation on May 22,1919, arresting British officials in Suly, and declared an independent Kurdistan the same year. Sheikh Mahmud Barzinji declared himself as the king of the kingdom of Kurdistan. Sheikh Mahmud ruled independently from the British and wanted them out of his kingdom, and as a result he was exiled for several years to the Andaman Islands in India by the British occupation, only to return and raise another unsuccessful rebellion centered in Sulaymaniah in 1923. In 1930 -1931, Sheikh Mahmud made his last unsuccessful attempt to free Kurdistan. He retreated into the mountains, and later signed a peace treaty with the Iraqi government and

Sulaimaniyah Public Park on Salim street with sculptures of renowned poets settled in the new Iraq in 1923. The oldest neighborhood in the city is called Goizha, which was named after the mountain looking over the city. Sabunkaran was the second neighborhood populated in Suly. Its name means those who make soap in Kurdish, hinting at its residents main occupation, the soap industry. Since liberation in 1991, Sulaymaniah has been administered by the Kurdish government and serves as one of the metropolises of Iraqi Kurdistan. The history of Sulaymaniah has shaped it into the wonderful and independent city that it is today. By: Debar Hiwa

Count Your Calories!

Median Ink and its Prestigious History

led by former student Meer Ako and other students around the school. The newspaper was developing . This year we have a special class for the newspaper .The articles are written by students from journalism class and its published monthly. The newspaper has different kinds of subjects. Median ink is written for students in CSM and some parents who are also interested in reading it. After the students write The Ink being printed at Baban publishing house! the articles, the editors edit the articles, and send it to editor-in-chief and designer for the A newspaper was a new idea for last touches on the articles .The editors are CSM.The idea was first brought up by Mr.Jeremaiah. It was published by the school students in the class; every five students have and some students. These interested students an editor and a leader. When the newspaper is published, the students sell the newspaper, wrote articles and published it. In 2008 another publication was out, this publication when the money is collected. The accountant saves it for the next publication to be pubwas different from the others, it was published by three fifth graders with the help of lished. Median ink is the first school newspaper in Kurdistan and also the second English a teacher. The newspaper wasnt really developed at that time as it is now. Then it was newspaper.

Whatever it is whether its school or work, with all the technology at hand and at our service, we as the new generation seem to move around much less and as a result gain weight. That is why everyone around the world is concerned about their weight and everyone has a few extra pounds that they want to lose. Well the best advice I could give you is to count your calories. Things like Calories in food and daily calorie intake may be new to our ears especially in this part of the world where many people are uneducated and dont have a clue about the human biology and health. Well this article could help you make calorie counting a useful habit in your daily life as a result making you a much healthier person and helping you achieve your desired weight and even more importantly educating you how to maintain your weight. First we must understand that every person is allowed different amounts of calories according to their metabolism and physical activity. The average calorie intake for men is around about 2500 calories daily and for women is around about 2000 calories daily but you must notice that your daily calorie intake varies according to your physical activity, metabolism and genetics, note that these numbers are only averages so you could have less calorie allowance or if your lucky more calorie allowance in a day, in other words if you eat more than your allowed calorie intake in a day you will gain weight and if you eat less you will lose weight and it is as simple as that. So you must plan your calorie intake for every meal throughout the day as a result controlling your weight and having a healthier lifestyle. For example if your allowed 2300 calories in a day, you could plan for your meals before hand and for instance you could have a 300-400 calorie breakfast a 200 calorie brunch a 600 hundred calorie lunch a 200 calorie snack and finally a 400 calorie dinner and still cut around about 500 calories as a result losing a little bit of fat each day. As you can see its not about diets that make you starve to death but its about eating wisely and spending the calories you can have intelligently. With the example I gave you if you were to go a step further and exercise from half an hour to an hour daily I will guarantee you that losing weight would not be an obstacle in life for you anymore and you will find your key to a healthy and capable body. You must also realize that food that contain a lot of sugar and fat also contain a lot of calories so I recommend if your looking to lose weight you should cut your carbs and replace them with proteins, for instance there are four calories in a gram of carbohydrate and the same for one gram of protein but there are nine calories in a gram of fat so like this it becomes really easy to choose what to eat and what to avoid. For calorie information and amounts of calories in specific foods websites like CALORIEKING.COM offer free and very reliable calorie information and are useful tools in expanding your knowledge about calories and using that knowledge to help you in losing and maintaining your weight. So next time your about to eat a big piece of chocolate cake think about the calories in it before you go ahead and eat it.

Our hair is dead tissue, yet we spend a lot of time and money on it. Other than being a major accessory for men and women, hair keeps your head warm and helps regulate body temperature. We need to go easy on chemical products and eat healthy because what we eat determines whether our hair is healthy or not. While genes are also a factor in having healthy hair or not, you can always choose to maintain a healthy diet and lifestyle to maintain healthy hair. Stress and a lack of vitamins also cause our hair to appear damaged and dull. Here are a few tips for maintaining Healthy hair should appear bouncy and shiny healthy and beautiful hair: as shown above.

Healthy Hair
1. Eat a lot of vegetables. Excellent sources of vitamin A and C come from the vegetables you eat. Vitamins help condition the hair. Carrots, lettuce, broccoli, and spinach are a few examples of the many vegetables necessary to provide iron and calcium, which are vital for keeping your hair as healthy as possible. 3. Do not brush your hair while it is wet. When the hair is wet, it is weaker and more likely to fall out, so brush your hair when it is quite damp. 6. Trim your hair. The ends of your hair can easily get damaged and weak so be sure to get a trim regularly. Not doing so will lead to split-ends and dry, damaged hair. One other tip coming straight from the hair salon is from Nazyans mother who owns the salon Naznas: Dont scratch your scalp with your nails when washing your hair harsh treatment does not clean. Simply use your fingertips to massage your scalp. By: Medya Rashid

I think real realization and appreciation of all the wisdom we are exposed to as students at CSM only really hits us in our last few years of high school. When this realization of my privileges as a CSM student hit me, with it came a want to be able to pass on to others this wisdom that had been given me. I struggled to find a way to put all of what I had learned about truth and wisdom at CSM into a comprehensible and concise package that I could intelligibly communicate in conversation, but I couldnt figure a way out to do this. Right about this time, I stumbled upon a green book

Schaeffers Big Question: How Then Should We Live?

written by an old American by the name of Schaeffer. How Then Should We Live was the green book called, and I remember thinking to myself how unfittingly small the book seemed for such a title. I went through the first chapter and was completely hooked. In the book, Schaeffer very efficiently and neatly goes about the task of following Western history and Art from Roman times all the way till Modernity. On the way, Schaeffer gives a very detailed and rigorous explanation of why he thinks Western art and civilization have followed the path that they have, what the problems with this path they have taken are, and what he thinks is the way to fix these problems. As I read through How Then We Should Live, I became increasingly aware of the fact that this book was in essence the heart of all that I had learned at CSM, and a very short and efficient way of communicating the wisdom students at CSM receive over the period of their high school years. This was the comprehensible and concise package I had been looking for by which I could communicate all of the values I had been taught at CSM to one who had never been so privi-
