SET – II
Section A: Mechatronics
1. Design a system to measure the angular position of a rotating shaft using a
transducer and display the result on a digital interface. 2. Demonstrate the measurement of linear displacement using an LVDT (Linear Variable Differential Transformer). 3. Write a program to control the speed and direction of a DC servomotor and verify its operation. 4. Using an 8051 microcontroller, write a program for the addition of two 8-bit numbers, simulate the result, and display it on an LCD. Interface a stepper motor with a microcontroller 5. Write a program for addition, subtraction, and multiplication of two 8-bit numbers in 8051. 6. Write a program to control the speed and direction of a DC servomotor using PWM. 7. Discuss the differences in controlling an AC servomotor versus a DC servomotor. 8. Write a step-by-step method to control the speed of an induction motor using a VFD (Variable Frequency Drive). 9. Using a microcontroller, program the direction control of a stepper motor 10.Design a circuit for measuring speed using an optical encoder transducer. 11.Describe a method to measure pressure using a piezoelectric transducer. 12.Write a program to interface a temperature sensor and display the temperature on an LCD.
Section B: Internet of Things (IOT)
1. Write and demonstrate a program of MQTT protocol in IoT communication. 2. Write and demonstrate a program to turn ON/OFF a motor using an SBC or microcontroller through an internet-connected interface. 3. Modify the motor control program to include a timer functionality for automatic shutdown after a preset time. 4. Write a program to interface a temperature sensor with an SBC and display the temperature readings on a web-based dashboard. 5. Write a program to Interface a gas sensor with a microcontroller/SBC, and program it to display real-time data on an IoT platform (e.g., Thing Speak, Blynk). 6. Write and demonstrate a program to modify the solenoid valve control program to send an alert notification (e.g., via email) when the valve is activated. 7. Write a program to send a notification (e.g., SMS or email) when a connected sensor detects abnormal conditions, such as high temperature or gas leakage. 8. Create a web-based dashboard to display real-time data from a pressure sensor connected to a microcontroller. 9. Demonstrate data logging from a light sensor to an IoT platform and visualize the data trends over time. 10.Implement a Bluetooth-based system where a temperature sensor’s data is displayed in a smartphone application in real-time. 11.Create and test an IoT-based system to control home appliances (e.g., lights, fans) through a web application. 12.Develop a program to interface a PIR motion sensor with an SBC, and send an alert to a smartphone when motion is detected. 13.Write a program to interface a Bluetooth module with a microcontroller to send temperature sensor data to a smartphone app. 14.Demonstrate the use of WiFi to send humidity sensor data from a microcontroller/SBC to a cloud database (e.g., Firebase) using tinker card. 15.Interface a linear actuator with a microcontroller/SBC and write a program to extend/retract it based on sensor inputs (e.g., distance or force sensor). 16.Implement an IoT-based rotary actuator control system where the actuator’s position is adjusted via commands sent from a mobile app.
