General Instructions:
(a) The question paper has five sections - A,B,C,D, E and F. There are 37 questions in all.
(b) All questions are compulsory.
(c) Section- A - Questions from serial number 1 to 20 are objective type questions. Each question carries
one mark.
(d) Section – B - Questions from serial number 21 to 24 are very short answer type questions, carrying
2 marks each.
(e) Section – C- Questions from serial number 25 to 29 are short answer type questions, carrying 3
marks each.
(f) Section – D - Questions from serial number 30 to 33 are long answer type questions, carrying 5
marks each.
(g) Section- E- Questions from serial number 34 to 36 are case based questions, carrying 4 marks each.
(h) Section – F- Question number 37 is map question, carrying 5 marks with two parts, 37(A)from
History (2 marks) and 37(B) Geography (3 marks).

marks)

Sheela is not paid for the services delivered for upbringing of the family . Buta earns money,
which he spends on rearing his family. Women are not paid for their service delivered in the
family . The household work done by women is not recognised in the national income .
Geeta, mother of Vilas ,earned income by selling fish. Women are paid for their work when they
enter the labour market, Their earning like that of their male counterparts, is determined on the
basis of education and skill.

Constitution making is not unique to South Africa. Every country has diverse groups of people.
Their relationship may not have been as bad as that between the whites and the blacks in
South Africa. But all over the world people have differences of opinion and interests .Whether
democratic or not, most countries in the world need to have these basic rules.This applies not
just to governments. Any association needs to have its constitution. It could be a club in your
area, a cooperative society or a political party,they all need a constitution.

Q 36. Read the paragraph carefully and answer the following questions; (1+1+2=4 marks)

The Ganga is joined by many tributaries from the Himalayas, a few of them being major rivers,
such as the Yamuna ,the Ganga ,the Gandak and the Kosi. The river Yamuna rises from the
Yamunotri glacier in the Himalayas. It flows parallel to the Ganga and as a right bank tributary
needs the Ganga at Allahabad .The Ghagra ,The Gandak and kosi rise in the Nepal Himalaya.
They are the rivers which flood parts of the northern plains every year , causing white spread
damage to life and property, whereas they enrich the soil for agricultural use . The main
tributaries which come from the peninsular uplands are the Chambal, the Betwa and the Son.
These rise from semi arid areas, have shorter courses and do not carry much water in them.
