My name is Siam Hasan Nishal, and I am a committed student from Bangladesh. I

recently finished my Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) in 2024 at Feni Government
College under the Cumilla Board, and prior to that, I earned my Secondary School
Certificate (SSC) in 2022 from Feni Government Pilot High School. Since I was
young, I have had a strong interest in engineering and technology, which has
inspired me to pursue higher education in this area. I have always been diligent
and focused in my studies, and my academic path has been consistent, with no gaps
in my education. To reach my career aspirations, I have applied for a Diploma in
Engineering at Deakin College, Australia, which will pave the way for a bachelor’s
degree in Mechanical Engineering at Deakin University. This program is well-
designed and emphasizes practical learning, which will help me establish a solid
foundation for my future studies. My choice to study abroad stems from my desire to
obtain a globally recognized qualification and hands-on experience that will enable
me to thrive in the field of mechanical engineering.

I don't have any work experience yet because I've been concentrating on my studies.
However, I'm really eager to build my skills and gain experience while pursuing my
higher education. On the family side, I come from a supportive and well-established
background. My family runs a sweet shop which gives us financial stability. They
are very supportive of my academic goals and are ready to fund my education in
Australia. My tuition fees and living expenses will be taken care of by my family's
income and savings, allowing me to focus on my studies without worrying about
finances. My parents recognize the importance of international education and
believe that this opportunity will pave the way for a successful future.

I have a deep connection with my family, who have always been there to guide and
support me throughout my life. Even though I will be studying abroad, I plan to
stay in close touch with them and return home after I finish my degree. My roots in
Bangladesh run deep, as I grew up in a close-knit community where I formed strong
bonds with friends, relatives, and neighbors. This upbringing has given me a strong
sense of belonging and a sense of responsibility towards my family and society. I
also feel a strong connection to my country and want to contribute to its
development by applying the knowledge and skills I acquire from my studies. After I
complete my mechanical engineering degree, I intend to return to Bangladesh and
work in the engineering field, focusing on industries like manufacturing,
automotive, or infrastructure development. My aim is to use my expertise to improve
industrial efficiency and introduce innovative mechanical solutions that can help
advance the country’s technology.

I am a driven and ambitious student with a well-defined academic and career path.
The strong support from my family, along with my financial stability and deep
connections to my home country, equip me to pursue my studies in Australia
effectively. I am excited to embrace this new academic challenge and acquire
valuable knowledge that will aid me in reaching my professional aspirations while
maintaining my ties to my family and contributing to the growth of Bangladesh’s
engineering sector.

I have a great interest in technology, creativity and problem solving which is why
I want to study mechanical engineering. In sectors that are essential for economic
growth like manufacturing, automobiles and infrastructure this field is very
important. I want to utilize my advanced knowledge and technical skills to help the
growing need of mechanical engineers in Bangladesh. For me Deakin College Diploma
in Engineering is the right starting point as it will give me a solid foundation in
engineering principles and will facilitate my transfer to Deakin University’s
Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering (Honours). I will be better equipped for a
successful engineering career with this program which will give me both theoretical
knowledge and practical experience.

I have chosen Deakin College and Deakin University because of their good reputation
in engineering. Deakin University is one of the top universities in Australia and
offers industry based learning, state of the art facilities and strong industry
connections. The Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering (Honours) is accredited by
Engineers Australia so it meets international standards. The university emphasizes
practical learning through internships, research projects and hands on training so
students get real world experience before entering the job market. The Diploma of
Engineering at Deakin College is perfect for international students like me as it
offers personal academic support, smaller class sizes and a supportive learning
environment to help me adjust to the Australian education system before going to
university.

I chose Australia because of its great education system, innovative teaching and
practical learning. Australian universities are global and have strong industry
connections so students can gain the skills needed for the workforce. The learning
environment in Australia promotes creativity, problem solving and teamwork which is
good for an engineer. Australia is also a safe and multicultural country with a
high standard of living and is a great place for international students.

After completing my course, I will go back to Bangladesh and work in manufacturing,

automotive or infrastructure sector. I will apply my advanced knowledge and skills
to improve industrial efficiency and introduce new solutions. With my international
education I want to contribute to Bangladesh’s engineering industry and help it
grow. In short my decision to study at Deakin College and Deakin University is
based on their quality education and industry focus. To sum up with academic
background, family support and financial stability I am confident that this program
will help me achieve my career goals and make a impact in the engineering sector of
my country.

Completing the Diploma of Engineering at Deakin College and progressing to the

Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering (Honours) at Deakin University will
significantly enhance my career prospects. This pathway will provide me with a
strong foundation in engineering principles, hands-on learning, and industry-
relevant knowledge, preparing me for a successful career in Bangladesh’s
manufacturing, automotive, and infrastructure sectors. After graduation, I aim to
work as a design engineer, maintenance engineer, or production engineer in leading
companies such as Walton, PRAN-RFL Group, Bangladesh Steel Re-Rolling Mills (BSRM),
and ACI Motors. These companies are expanding rapidly and require skilled
mechanical engineers to improve production processes and implement modern
solutions. With an internationally recognized qualification, I will have better job
opportunities, career growth, and the potential to earn a higher salary.

The Diploma of Engineering at Deakin College will help me adapt to the Australian
education system, improve my academic skills, and build a strong technical
foundation before progressing to university. Deakin College offers smaller class
sizes, personalized academic support, and a structured learning approach, ensuring
international students receive the necessary guidance to excel. This transition
program is an excellent opportunity for me to strengthen my knowledge and
confidence before entering university-level coursework.
Deakin University is well-known for its industry-focused learning, research
facilities, and strong connections with leading companies. The Bachelor of
Mechanical Engineering (Honours) program is accredited by Engineers Australia,
ensuring that it meets international standards. The university emphasizes practical
learning through industry placements, internships, and real-world projects, giving
students valuable experience before entering the job market. This approach will
help me develop the technical and problem-solving skills necessary to succeed in
the engineering field.

An Australian degree will give me a competitive advantage over local graduates

because the education system focuses on problem-solving, hands-on learning, and
industry collaboration. While Bangladeshi universities primarily emphasize
theoretical knowledge, Deakin University integrates practical applications,
preparing students for real-world challenges. Additionally, studying in a
multicultural environment will enhance my communication, teamwork, and leadership
skills, making me a more competitive candidate in Bangladesh’s job market.

After completing my degree, I plan to return to Bangladesh due to my strong ties to

my family and country. My family owns a sweet shop and a three-year-old building,
providing financial stability. They have always supported my education, and I want
to use my knowledge to contribute to Bangladesh’s growing engineering sector. The
country’s manufacturing and infrastructure industries are expanding rapidly,
creating demand for skilled engineers. By returning home, I can apply my expertise
to improve industrial efficiency, introduce modern technologies, and support
economic growth.

In conclusion, studying at Deakin College and Deakin University will provide me

with the necessary knowledge and experience to achieve my career goals. With my
education, skills, and international exposure, I am confident that I will make a
meaningful contribution to Bangladesh’s engineering sector.
