Presentation Software
Presentation software is an application software which is used to create multimedia
presentations in the form of slide shows.
Presentation
A presentation is a collection of slides arranged in a sequential manner to convey, motivate ,
entertain or to provide information.
Presentation can be made more interesting and effective by adding text, diagrams, images,
clip arts, sounds, videos, designs, themes, charts, smart arts, transitions and special
animation effects, etc.
Slide
Slide can be defined as a digital or an electronic page of a presentation.
Slide Show
A slide show is a sequential display of slides which is shown to the audience with an
objective of providing information and exchanging ideas or views on a particular topic.
This software can be used in many fields like entertainment, education, etc.
TITLE BAR
This bar is located at the top of the PowerPoint window. It displays the name of the current
presentation (Presentation1) and the name of the application (Microsoft PowerPoint).
STATUS BAR
The Status bar is positioned at the bottom of the PowerPoint Window. It displays important
information about the current slide like Slide number, Theme name, Spell check, View, and
Zoom level.
2 TITLE: It is the heading of a slide which is used to guide the audience about the content of
the slide.
3 BODY TEXT: It contains the main content of the slide, generally formatted as a bulleted or
numbered list.
4. FOOTER: This is an area at the bottom of the slide, used to specify the organization name
or slide show theme. It is an optional field and can be deleted.
5 DATE AND TIME: It is displayed at the bottom of the slide. This option can be set to
update automatically, or can be deleted.
6 SLIDE NUMBER: It is also located at the bottom of the slide. You can either modify its
location or delete it.
Title Silde: it is designed to add a title and some text content in a paragraph form.
Title and Content Slider it contains a title field and a body where you can either add text or
insert any element, such as charts, tables, media dip, pictures, dip art, and smartart.
Section Header Slide: Use this slide type to separate different sections of the same
presentation rather than use an additional Title slide. It can also be used as an alternate to
the Title slide layout.
Two Content Slide: It contains a title field and two layout boxes where you can either add
text or insen any element, like charts, tables, media clips, pictures, clipart, smartart graphics.
Comparison Silide: It is similar to Two Content slide layout, but it has additional text boxes in
the body
Title Only Slide: It contains a title field. There is no other content panel in this slide.
Blank Slide: It is completely blank and contains no elements. You can design the slide
according to your requirements.
Content with Caption Slide: Content will be placed on the right side of the slide, which is
most often a graphic object, such as a chart, picture, media clips, shapes, etc. The title and
caption are placed on the left side.
Picture with Caption Slide: The upper part of the slide is used to place only a picture. Below
the picture you can add title and descriptive text in the given text boxes.
Normal View
It is the main editing view, which is used to write and design presentation. In Normal View,
you can add text, graphics, sound animation and other effects as well. In this view you can
also have a large view of an individual slide, notes pane at bottom, an outline of slide text
outline tab and slides displayed as thumbnails slides tab all at the same time.
It displays a miniature view of all the slides in a presentation arranged in horizontal rows.
This view is useful in making changes to several slides in one go. In Slide Sorter View, you
can change the order of slides, copy or delete the slides, add transitions, animation effects,
and set the timings for the slide show
It shows all the slides of a presentation starting either from the first slide or the current slide
one after another. One slide occupies the entire screen in this view
In this full screen view, you can see how your graphics, timings, movies, animated elements,
and transition effects will look in the actual show.
