CSCI426_Project_Part1_Fall 2024-2025
Project part 1
Objectives:
The goal of this project is to give you the opportunity to implement both the front-end and
back-end of a website, focusing on responsive design and database construction. Please note
that this phase of the project should include only the website’s front-end (responsive client-
side) and database structure, without any interaction between the website and the database.
Project Rules:
• You are allowed to work in groups of 2 at most or alone
• Your project must be unique
• Your project should be one that its code is not available and found on the internet.
• It shouldn’t be one that was submitted in previous semesters.
• You can get help from the internet, but at least 60% of your project should be
written by yourself
• Your web site should be hosted using any free webhosting platform as
infinityfree.com
Task:
It is a tempting to create an own web site by using client and server sides authoring
languages. A successful Web site is the result of careful planning, enabling it to grow
naturally and to accommodate new material as the course develops.
Choose an interested area (sports, academic, business, music, etc.) and build a web site
that will clearly represent this area; try to implement everything you have been studied
in this course.
The web site pages should be not enough to represent the interested chosen area and
also should have interactive pages without ambiguity.
Thinking like a user will help you identify the most important types of information
required from your site. It will also make you ask questions like:
Where do I find certain information?
What related information is available?
The thought process involved will give you a clearer picture of the paths (links) you will
need to provide to and from individual pages on your site.
Taking a long-term view will enable you to plan for growth and to accommodate new
material on your site. You can probably identify lots of types of information to provide
initially.
Assessment Criteria:
1. The whole code for the web site and the database as a sql file format in one .zip file using Google
classroom
2. Name the .zip file by your Full name.
3. The URL of your hosted website.
4. A 10 minutes video in which you explain and demonstrate the run of your project. You should
show a demo run and explain your code. Both students “if team work” should explain their code
in the video.
Project deadline:
This project is handed on Monday 11 November, 2024 and is due by the google classroom on Monday
2 December, 2024
