INTRODUCTION TO AI
QUESTION & ANSWER
1. What is Artificial?
Artificial is something that is man-made, which does not occur naturally.
2. What is Intelligence?
Machines that can simplify human life have been created by humans. Machines are designed to complete jobs that
are either time-consuming or too laborious for people to complete.
Therefore, machines assist us by performing tasks for us, dividing our workload, & making it simpler for us to
achieve these objectives.
OR
Intelligence is the ‘ability to perceive or infer information, & to retain it as knowledge to be applied towards adaptive
behaviors within an environment or context.’
Intelligence is the ability to observe & understand information, & preserve it as knowledge to apply in various
situations or context through suitable adaptive behaviors.
3. What is AI?
The replication of human intelligence functions by machines, particularly computer systems, is known as AI. Expert
systems, natural language processing, speech recognition, & machine vision are some examples of specific AI
applications.
OR
When a machine possesses the ability to mimic human traits, i.e., make decisions, predict the future, learn &
improve on its own, it is said to have AI.
OR
A machine is artificially intelligent when it can accomplish tasks by itself - collect data, understand it, analyze it,
learn from it, & improve it.
4. What are the different abilities that are involved in Intelligence? OR Types of intelligence.
The abilities that are involved in Intelligence are –
a. Musical Intelligence f. Existential Intelligence
b. Mathematical Logic Intelligence g. Intrapersonal Intelligence
c. Linguistic Intelligence h. Interpersonal Intelligence
d. Spatial Visual Intelligence i. Naturalist Intelligence
e. Kinesthetic Intelligence
5. How do you make decisions?
The basis for decision-making depends on the information that is available & how we perceive & comprehend
it. Without information, we are unable to make “excellent” decisions because we are forced to deal with unknown
