Walk around the class and ask your classmates questions to find someone who fits the
descriptions below. Write their names in the spaces provided.

Work with a partner and take turns describing your home. Use the phrases below to help you.

 It is ___ (nicely decorated/simply decorated) with ___ (modern appliances).

After listening to your partner’s description, ask follow-up questions.

Activity 4: Discussion Questions

Discuss the following questions with your group:

1. Would you prefer to live in the city center or the outskirts? Why?
2. Do you think renting or owning a home is better? Why?
3. What is your ideal home? Describe it using at least five vocabulary words from the list.
4. Have you ever visited a home that you found ostentatious or modest? Describe it.
5. What are the advantages of living in an apartment compared to a house?

Activity 5: Role Play

Work in pairs. One of you is a real estate agent, and the other is a potential renter or buyer. Use
the vocabulary list to discuss available housing options.

Example Dialogue:
Agent: I have a two-bedroom apartment situated in the city center. It’s nicely decorated and has
a balcony. Would you be interested?
Buyer/Renter: That sounds great! Is it spacious, or is it a bit cramped?
Agent: It’s cozy but has all the mod cons. Let me show you some pictures.

Switch roles and practice different scenarios.
