What is an SOP?
A Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) is a set of
step-by-step instructions that explains how to carry
out a specific task to ensure consistency and quality
Purpose
Ensures safety and efficiency in the
workshop.
Provides clear instructions for workers.
Minimizes errors and accidents.
Parts of an SOP
1. Title:
Example: "Standard Operating Procedure for Oil Change."
2. Objective:
State the purpose of the SOP.
Example: "To ensure safe and efficient oil changes in the workshop."
3. Scope:
Describe who will use the SOP and where it applies.
Example: "This SOP applies to all mechanics and staff handling oil changes."
4. Tools and Materials Needed:
List items required to complete the task.
Example: "Oil filter, wrench, drain pan, gloves, funnel, engine oil."

Write clear and numbered steps to follow.
