32. The sum of the digits of a two-digit number is 9. Also nine times this number is twice the number
obtained by reversing the order of the digits. Find the number.

academic performance. If each prize is Rs.20 less than its preceding prize, find the value of each of
the prizes.
33. Prove that (sin A + cosec A)2 + (cos A + sec A)2 = 7 + tan2A + cot2A.

A kite is flying at a height of 60 m above the ground. The string attached to the kite is temporarily
tied to a point on the ground. The inclination of the string with the ground is 600. Find the length of
the string assuming that there is no slack in the string.
34. The following distribution shows the daily pocket allowance of children of a locality.

The mean pocket allowance is Rs.18. Find the missing frequency (f)

A lot consists of 48 mobile phones of which 42 are good, only 3 have minor defects and 3 have
major defects. Varnika will buy a phone, if it is good, but the trader will only buy a mobile, if it has

36. India is competitive manufacturing location due to the low cost of manpower and strong technical
and engineering capabilities contributing to higher quality production runs. The
production of TV sets in a factory increases uniformly by a fixed number every year. It produced
16000 sets in 6th year and 22600 in 9th year.

Based on the above information, answer the following questions:

1. Find the production during first year.


2. Find the production during 8th year.
3. Find the production during first 3 years.
4. Find the difference of the production during 7th year and 4th year.
37. It is common that Governments revise travel fares from time to time based on various factors such as
inflation (a general increase in prices and fall in the purchasing value of money) on different types of
vehicles like auto, Rickshaws, taxis, Radio cab etc. The auto charges in a city comprise of a fixed
charge together with the charge for the distance covered. Study the following situations.
