CONSTRUCTION LABOUR PRODUCTIVITY GUIDE

Labour productivity is a crucial factor in construction projects. Below is a reference guide for construction labour
productivity based on industry standards.

1. Earthwork & Excavation


- Excavation (Manual) - Soft Soil: 2.5 - 4.0 CUM per worker per day
- Excavation (Manual) - Hard Soil: 1.5 - 2.5 CUM per worker per day
- Excavation with JCB: 80 - 100 CUM per worker per day
- Earth Filling & Compaction (Manual): 4.0 - 6.0 CUM per worker per day

2. Concreting Work
- Concrete Mixing (Manual): 1.5 - 2.0 CUM per worker per day
- Concrete Placing (PCC/RCC): 3.0 - 5.0 CUM per worker per day
- Concrete Vibrating: 8.0 - 12.0 CUM per worker per day

3. Formwork (Shuttering)
- Column Shuttering: 6 - 10 SQM per worker per day
- Beam & Slab Shuttering: 8 - 12 SQM per worker per day
- Removal of Shuttering: 20 - 25 SQM per worker per day

4. Reinforcement Work
- Rebar Cutting & Bending: 100 - 150 KG per worker per day
- Rebar Fixing: 80 - 120 KG per worker per day

5. Masonry Work
- Brickwork (230 mm thick): 3 - 6 SQM per worker per day
- Blockwork (200 mm thick): 6 - 10 SQM per worker per day

6. Plastering & Finishing


- Internal Plaster (12mm): 8 - 12 SQM per worker per day
- External Plaster (20mm): 5 - 8 SQM per worker per day
- Painting (Primer + 2 Coats): 15 - 25 SQM per worker per day

7. Flooring & Tiling


- Tile Laying (600x600 mm): 10 - 15 SQM per worker per day
- Granite/Marble Laying: 5 - 8 SQM per worker per day

8. Structural Steel Work


- Fabrication: 50 - 100 KG per worker per day
- Erection: 100 - 150 KG per worker per day

9. Waterproofing Work
- Brickbat Coba Waterproofing: 8 - 12 SQM per worker per day
- Membrane Waterproofing: 20 - 30 SQM per worker per day
- Chemical Coating (2 coats): 30 - 50 SQM per worker per day

10. Miscellaneous Works


- Door/Window Fixing (Aluminum): 5 - 8 SQM per worker per day
- False Ceiling (Gypsum): 8 - 12 SQM per worker per day
- Electrical Conduiting & Wiring: 8 - 15 Points per worker per day
