Operation manual

for file output on CNC

This operation manual explains the procedure to get Parameter file, system configuration
file and CNC ID file on CNC. The procedure is slightly different by CNC display size or
screen specification. Refer to the corresponding chapter.

1. For 8.4/10.4-inch display unit


2. For 15/19-inch display unit
3. For iHMI screen (Procedure to display a conventional screen)
4. If any screen doesn’t appear

1 For 8.4/10.4-inch display unit


1. Turn on the machine and activate the CNC.
2. Prepare an empty USB memory which is supporting USB Ver.1.0, or memory card
as a input/output device.
3. Insert the device into the corresponding interface at left of display.

4. Press the function key .

5. Press the soft key [PARAMETER], then the parameter screen appears.

6. Press the MDI switch on the machine operator’s panel or enter state emergency
stop.
7. When a USB memory is used, set “17” to the parameter No.20.
When a memory card is used, set “4” to the parameter No.20.
Note: Before to change the parameter No.20, note the original value.
8. Press the EDIT switch on the machine operator’s panel or enter state emergency
stop.
9. Press the soft key [(OPRT)].
10. Press the continuous menu key until soft key [F OUTPUT] appears. Press
the soft key [F OUTPUT].
11. Press the soft key [EXEC].

12. Press the function key .

13. Press the soft key [SYSTEM], then the system configuration screen appears.

14. Press the soft key [(OPRT)].
15. Press the soft key [F OUTPUT].
16. Press the soft key [EXEC].

17. Press the function key .

18. Press the continuous menu key until soft key [ID-INF] appears.
19. Press the soft key [ID-INF], then the CNC ID information screen appears.

20. Press the soft key [(OPRT)].
21. Press the soft key [F OUTPUT].
22. Press the soft key [EXEC].
23. Confirm that below files are there in USB memory or Memory card.

File name
Parameter CNC-PARA.TXT
System configuration SYS-CONF.TXT
CNC ID information CNCIDNUM.TXT

If the parameter No.20 is changed in the procedure No.7, operate from No.24 to No.26 as
follows,

24. Press the function key .

25. Press the soft key [PARAMETER], then the parameter screen appears.
26. Set the original value to the parameter No.20 as noted.

That’s over the operation.

2 For 15/19-inch display unit


1. Turn on the machine and activate the CNC.
2. Prepare an empty USB memory which is supporting USB Ver.1.0, or memory
card as a input/output device.
3. Insert the device into the corresponding interface at left of display.

4. Press the function key .

5. Press the vertical soft key [PARAMETER], then the parameter screen appears.

6. Press the MDI switch on the machine operator’s panel or enter state emergency
stop.
7. When a USB memory is used, set “17” to the parameter No.20.
When a memory card is used, set “4” to the parameter No.20.
Note: Before to change the parameter No.20, note the original value.

stop.
9. Press the horizontal soft key [F OUTPUT].
10. Press the horizontal soft key [EXEC].

11. Press the function key .

12. Press the vertical soft key [NEXT PAGE] until vertical soft key [SYSTEM]
appears.
13. Press the vertical soft key [SYSTEM], then the CNC ID information screen
appears.

14. Press the horizontal soft key [F OUTPUT].


15. Press the horizontal soft key [EXEC].

16. Press the function key .

17. Press the vertical soft key [NEXT PAGE] until vertical soft key [ID-INF] appears.
18. Press the vertical soft key [ID-INF], then the system configuration screen
appears.

19. Press the horizontal soft key [F OUTPUT].


20. Press the horizontal soft key [EXEC].
21. Confirm that below files are there in the USB memory or the memory card.

File name
Parameter CNC-PARA.TXT
System configuration SYS-CONF.TXT
CNC ID information CNCIDNUM.TXT

If the parameter No.20 is changed in the procedure No.7, operate as follows,

22. Press the function key .

23. Press the vertical soft key [PARAMETER], then the parameter screen appears.
24. Set the original value to the parameter No.20 as noted.

That’s over the operation.

3 For iHMI screen (Procedure to display a conventional screen)


1. Turn on the machine and activate the CNC.
2. Press <MENU> key displays the Home screen.

3. Press an icon as “MAINTENANCE DISPLAY”. Otherwise, select it by a cursor
key and press [INPUT] key.

4. Conventional CNC screen is displayed. Continue to operate as section 1 or 2 by
follow as screen size.

4 If any screen doesn’t appear


If any screens are not displayed as section 1 to 3, we expect that an original screen by the
machine tool maker has been displayed. Confirm a manual which is written by the machine
tool builder how to display Fanuc’s screen. When the screen has been display, please try to
operate above section 1 or 2.
