Unit 1: PEOPLE AND RELATIONSHIP

Describe a family member who you really admire..

One family member I really admire is my grandmother. My grandmother is in
her seventies, but she is still very active and energetic. She has a warm smile that
makes everyone feel welcome and loved. I think she is the kindest and most patient
person I have ever known.
My grandmother has a calm and gentle personality. She always listens carefully when
people talk to her, and she gives great advice for them. She is also very wise because
she has so much life experience. Whenever I have a problem or feel worried, I can talk
to her, and she always knows what to say to make me feel better. She keep calm and
looks for solutions even when things don’t go as planed.
I love spending time with my grandmother. One thing we often do together is cooking
vegetarian. She knows how to make many vegetarian dishes from vegetables and
mushrooms, and she loves teaching me. While we cook, she tells me stories about her
life, and I learn experience about them.
I really admire my grandmother for many reasons. Special reasons is, she has faced a
lot of difficulties in her life, but she never gave up. She worked hard to pass challenges
and always stayed strong, even during tough times. She believes in kindness and
makes sure that everyone around her feels cared for.
In my family, my grandmother is like the glue that holds everyone together.

Unit 3: STUDIES AND WORK

Topic: Describe your dream job
My dream job is to be an English teacher. I have always enjoyed helping others
learn, and I think teaching English would be a great way to make a difference in
people’s lives. Being an English teacher is not just about knowing the language; it’s
about sharing knowledge, inspiring students, and helping them improve their
communication skills.
To become an English teacher, I would need certain qualifications and experience.
First, I would need a degree in education or English, and maybe a teaching certificate,
depending on where I want to teach. It’s also important to have good knowledge of
grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation. Besides that, I would need to practice
teaching skills, like how to explain things clearly, how to make lessons fun, and how
to manage a classroom. Experience, like working with students or tutoring, would also
help me prepare for the role.
The job of an English teacher would involve many responsibilities. I would need to
prepare lesson plans, teach grammar and vocabulary, and help students practice
speaking, listening, reading, and writing. I would also give tests and homework to
check their progress. Another important part of the job is understanding students’
needs. Some students might learn quickly, while others might need more help, so I
would have to be patient and find ways to support everyone.
I think the most difficult part of being an English teacher would be managing different
levels of students in one class. Some students might find it easy to learn, while others
might struggle. As a teacher, I would need to make sure that all students feel included
and motivated, which could be challenging. Also, it might be hard to keep students
interested in learning English if they find it boring or difficult. I would have to find
creative ways to make lessons fun and engaging.
Being an English teacher is my dream job because I love the idea of helping others
improve their lives through education. English is such an important skill that opens
many opportunities for people, like better jobs, studying abroad, or traveling. Teaching
this language would give me the chance to help students achieve their goals. I also like
the idea of working with young people and creating a positive and supportive
environment for them to learn. It’s a job where I can make a real difference, and I
think it would be very rewarding.
In the future, I hope to become a great English teacher who inspires students to enjoy
learning and reach their potential. Teaching is not just a job; it’s a way to give back
and help others succeed. That’s why it’s my dream job.

UNIT 5: COMMUNICATION
Describe a language other than English that you would like to learn.
A language I would like to learn is Chinese. Chinese is one of the most widely
spoken languages in the world. It is the official language of China, and it is also
spoken in other places like Taiwan, Singapore, and many Chinese communities around
the world. Chinese has a long history, and it is connected to a rich culture, so learning
it would be very interesting.
Chinese is a very different language from English, so I think some parts of learning it
would be difficult. For example, Chinese uses characters instead of an alphabet, so I
would need to memorize many characters to read and write. Also, the tones in Chinese
would be challenging. Chinese is a tonal language, which means that the meaning of a
word can change depending on how it is pronounced. There are four tones, and it can
be hard to hear the difference between them at first.
However, I think some parts of learning Chinese would be easier. For example, the
grammar in Chinese is not very complicated. There are no verb tenses, like past or
future, and no plurals, which makes it simpler than some other languages. Also, many
people say that once you get used to the tones and characters, it becomes easier to
learn more.
The reason I want to learn Chinese is because it is such an important language. China
is a big country with a strong economy, and knowing Chinese could open up many
opportunities for work, travel, and making new friends. I also think Chinese culture is
fascinating. Learning the language would help me understand Chinese traditions,
history, and way of life better. For example, I could enjoy Chinese movies, music, and
books in their original language, which would be amazing.
In the future, I hope I can take Chinese classes or practice with native speakers to
improve my skills. It might take a lot of time and effort, but I think it would be worth
it. Learning Chinese would not only help me communicate with millions of people but
also help me grow as a person. That’s why I would love to learn this language.

UNIT 6: TECHNOLOGY
Describe a piece of electronic equipment that you find useful.
One piece of electronic equipment that I find really useful is my iPad. I got my
iPad about a year ago as a gift. I was looking for a device that was portable, easy to
use, and could help me with both studying and entertainment. The iPad is a tablet that
is lightweight and easy to carry around, so I can take it with me almost everywhere.
I use my iPad for many different things. First, I use it for studying. I download e-
books, notes, and study materials, which makes it easier to read and take notes during
class or at home. I also use educational apps to help me learn new things. It’s very
convenient because I don’t need to carry heavy books around; everything I need is on
the iPad.
Besides studying, I also use my iPad for entertainment. I watch movies and TV shows,
listen to music, and browse the internet. The screen is big and clear, so it’s great for
watching videos. Sometimes, I use it to play games, and there are so many fun apps
available. I can also use social media apps to stay in touch with my friends and family.
One of the things I really like about my iPad is the touch screen. It’s very easy to
navigate and use, and I don’t need a keyboard or mouse. I also like that the battery
lasts a long time, so I don’t have to worry about charging it constantly. The iPad is
very fast and responds quickly, which makes it perfect for everything from checking
emails to playing games.
I find my iPad useful because it combines many different functions into one device.
It’s small and portable, but it can do so much. Whether I need to study, work, or relax,
my iPad helps me with all of these things. It has become a very important tool in my
daily life, and I use it almost every day. It saves me time and makes tasks easier, which
is why I find it so useful.

UNIT 7: HOBBIES
Describe a hobby you enjoy.
One of my favorite hobbies is cooking, especially preparing delicious Lacto-
Ovo vegetarian meals. I enjoy experimenting with a variety of fresh vegetables, dairy
products, and eggs to create nutritious and flavorful dishes.
I try to cook almost every day, usually in the evenings after work or on weekends
when I have more time to explore new recipes. Cooking gives me a chance to relax
and unwind after a busy day.
I mostly cook in my kitchen, where I’ve set up all the tools and ingredients I need. It’s
my creative space, and I enjoy organizing everything before I start. Sometimes, I also
like cooking outdoors during picnics or small gatherings with friends and family.
Speaking of family, I often cook with my sister or my grandmother, who are also
interested in vegetarian cooking. We exchange recipe ideas and help each other
prepare meals, which makes the experience even more enjoyable.
I started this hobby a few years ago, after I got a digestive disease, I couldn't eat meat,
I decided to switch to a vegetarian diet for health and environmental reasons. Since
then, I’ve been learning about different cuisines, that have amazing vegetarian dishes.
I’ve been enjoying this hobby for about five years now, and it never gets boring
because there’s always something new to try. Cooking also allows me to stay
connected to my cultural roots by recreating traditional recipes.
One memorable experience related to my hobby was when I made a complex
vegetarian Pho for my family. It took me hours to prepare, but everyone loved it, and I
felt so proud seeing their happy faces. Moments like these remind me why I love
cooking so much.
Finally, I enjoy cooking because it’s incredibly rewarding. Not only does it allow me
to eat healthy, homemade meals, but it also helps me save money and reduces my
reliance on processed foods. It’s a creative outlet and a way to show love to my friends
and family.

UNIT 8: YOUTH
Topic: Describe a happy childhood memory.
One of the most memorable childhood memories I have is about my love for
cycling and the races I used to have with my friends in the neighborhood. This
happened when I was around 10 years old. Every weekend, we would gather in the
small streets near my house and race our bicycles. It was always exciting and brought
so much joy to all of us.
One particular race stands out in my memory. It was a sunny afternoon, and as usual,
my friends and I lined up to start the race. The rule was simple: the first person to
reach the end of the street would be the winner. Everyone was full of energy and eager
to win. As the race began, we pedaled as fast as we could. I was focused on the road
and determined to finish first.
But suddenly, something unexpected happened. As I was speeding ahead, a monkey
appeared out of nowhere and ran across the road in front of me. I panicked and quickly
turned my bike to avoid hitting it. Unfortunately, I lost control and crashed hard onto
the ground. The fall was serious, and I got a deep wound on my knee. My friends
immediately stopped the race and rushed to help me. They helped me get up and took
me home.
My parents were worried and decided to take me to the doctor. The wound on my knee
was so deep that I needed stitches. I remember feeling scared at the time, but the
doctor was kind and told me everything would be okay. After that, I had to rest for a
few weeks and couldn’t join the races for a while. Even now, I still have a scar on my
knee that reminds me of that day.
This memory is memorable not just because of the accident but because it reminds me
of how much fun I had with my friends during those carefree days. It also taught me to
be more careful while riding a bike. Even though it was painful, this experience
became an important part of my childhood, and I look back on it with a smile.

Unit 9: HOME
Topic: Describe a place that you enjoy visiting.
One place that I really enjoy visiting is Japan. Japan is a beautiful country in
East Asia, known for its rich culture, stunning landscapes, and modern cities. I first
visited Japan a few years ago, and since then, it has become one of my favorite places.
The main reason I enjoy visiting Japan is that my lover lives there, so every time I go,
it feels like a special trip.
When I visit Japan, there is so much to see and do. In the cities like Tokyo and Kyoto,
you can explore beautiful temples, gardens, and shrines, which have a peaceful and
calm atmosphere. I also love the modern parts of Japan, like shopping streets and
entertainment districts, where you can find amazing food, fashion, and technology. I
enjoy trying different Japanese foods, such as sushi, ramen, and takoyaki, and there’s
always something new to taste. Additionally, I love the natural beauty of Japan, like its
mountains and hot springs, which are perfect for hiking or relaxing.
Since I first visited Japan, the country has changed in many ways. The cities have
become even more modern, with new buildings and transportation systems like the
high-speed trains. The technology in Japan has also advanced, making it even more
convenient to get around. For example, now there are more apps and services available
to help tourists navigate the country, making it easier to visit different places. Despite
these changes, Japan has kept its traditional charm, with old temples and historical
sites still being well-preserved.
I enjoy visiting Japan for many reasons. First, it’s a place full of culture and history,
which I find fascinating. The blend of ancient traditions with modern life makes it a
unique place to explore. Secondly, the people in Japan are very kind and polite, and I
always feel welcomed. And of course, the best part is spending time with my lover.
Being able to experience this beautiful country together makes each visit even more
special. Japan is a place where I can relax, learn, and enjoy new experiences, and
that’s why I always look forward to visiting.

Unit 11: ON THE MOVE

Topic: Describe a memorable holiday.
One memorable holiday for me was my first trip to Japan during the summer
vacation. It was a very special trip because it was my first time traveling, my first time
going abroad, and also my first time meeting my lover in person. We had been in a
long-distance relationship online for some time, and this trip was the moment we had
been waiting for.
I went to Japan in August, and I was so excited because everything about this trip was
new to me. When I arrived, my lover was there to welcome me at the airport. It felt
amazing to finally meet him in real life after talking online for so long. I still
remember feeling nervous but also very happy when I saw him for the first time. He
gave me a warm smile, and it felt like everything was perfect.
During the trip, we visited many beautiful places together. We explored Tokyo, where
I saw the bright city lights, tall buildings, and busy streets. We also went to traditional
areas, like temples and gardens, which were peaceful and very different from the
modern city. One of my favorite moments was when we went to a summer festival.
There were colorful decorations, delicious street food, and even fireworks at night. It
was such a joyful experience, and I felt so lucky to share it with him.
We also tried many Japanese foods, like sushi, ramen, and matcha desserts. My lover
introduced me to his favorite dishes, and I enjoyed everything so much. He was my
guide, showing me around and teaching me about Japanese culture. It was a great way
to learn and experience new things while spending time together.
This holiday is memorable for me because it was filled with so many "firsts." It was
my first trip to another country, my first experience with Japanese culture, and, most
importantly, the first time I met my lover in person. Being able to finally spend time
together after a long-distance relationship made the trip unforgettable. Every moment
felt special because I was with him, and we were creating happy memories together.
This holiday will always have a special place in my heart.
