SAP
The product family of Extended ECM is a leading Enterprise Content Management (ECM) system,
managing the information lifecycle across the enterprise, from capture to archiving and disposition.
It can be integrated into various business applications such as SAP S/4HANA, SAP SuccessFactors,
or Salesforce, has deep integration into the Microsoft 365 collaboration suite and supports many
Extended ECM offers different deployment options, ranging from installation directly on physical
hardware, virtual machines to modern, cloud-native deployments using Docker images and Helm
charts on Kubernetes platforms such as Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform, and AWS.
OpenText Extended ECM (Private Cloud) is the equivalent private cloud service offering which can be
considered as an alternative to customer-managed deployments.
The Release Notes cover the entire family of Extended ECM products including:
OpenText™ Extended ECM for Salesforce® is not available for SAP customers, unless the customer
purchases separate Extended ECM for Salesforce® subscriptions from OpenText.
Content Server combines related products, modules, and components in one installable software
package. There is no need to identify, check compatibility, check availability, and install modules
individually.
By consolidating and simplifying our Content Server delivery, we will provide a clearer view of all the
capabilities and opportunities Extended ECM can bring to you and your business.
What has changed for you? After installing Extended ECM – or upgrading your system to CE 23.4 –
your installation is a complete Extended ECM system. For a complete list of components see
Packaging and downloads.
Your license agreements and license keys will determine the allowed use of the software. Additional
functionality may be accessible to you. However, your license agreement with OpenText remains
applicable and you are eligible to use only the features that are part of your license plan. For more
information, see Note on the End User License Agreement.
Upgrading from a legacy license model to the Extended ECM X-Plans requires a new contract and
therefore cannot be carried out automatically. It requires manual steps after the license has been
changed. For more information about the procedures of a license type switch and its implications, see
this Knowledge Base Article Understanding the Extended ECM License Framework.
The Extended ECM X-Plan license enforcement prevents compliance issues like overuse or
unentitled use because Extended ECM checks the license of every user when they sign in. Users
must have at least an X1 license to sign in to the system.
The Extended ECM X-Plans license key clearly shows the type of X-Plan and the number of
purchased named users. Users in groups or partitions need to be allocated to a license type. When
users first sign in, each named user is counted against the total number of licenses that have been
purchased. If the number of users exceeds the number of available licenses, no additional new users
can sign in. The license counters and their usage can be monitored in OTDS.
• Pinned Columns view: Introduced a view called “Pinned columns” for Nodes table browse
pages and Search pages. This view allows users to manually resize columns and provides
horizontal scrolling if the columns exceed the screen width. Each user can choose their preferred
view and their browser will persist their custom browsing experience for future sessions. For more
information, see OpenText Extended ECM Smart View User Guide.
• Online Help: The Classic View User Help and Administration Help are now available through the
same Global Help Service used by the Smart View User Help. This change provides a unified
experience across all user interfaces in Extended ECM..
• Extended ECM Mobile and Business Attachment Widget: Added support for the Business
Attachment widget, which displays a list of business attachments linked to an individual business
object. For more information, see Extended ECM Mobile: Configuration Guide.
• Extended ECM Mobile and Business Workspaces: The ability to add Folders inside Business
Workspaces is now supported in Extended ECM Mobile App. For more information, see Extended
ECM Mobile: Configuration Guide.
• Extended ECM Mobile and AppWorks Workflows: Added the ability to view a workflow
overview including all related tasks and each task detail.
Business Workspaces
• Hierarchical Business Workspace structure: Users can create on-demand nested Business
Workspaces when a hierarchical template structure was configured by the business administrator.
To use this feature, define template shortcuts to the subordinated Business Workspace templates
in the Business Workspace. With this approach you can create complex Business Workspace
structures.
For more information, see OpenText Business Workspaces: Configuration Guide.
• Reference attribute is a required field: If you switch to only required fields in the workspace
creation dialog box or in the Business Workspace properties dialog box, the reference attribute
remains in the dialog box.
For more information, see OpenText Extended ECM Platform: Integration and Configuration
Guide
• Adapt business scenarios to your needs: Business administrators can change the
configuration of business scenarios to suit their individual needs, which can accelerate the
project and proof of concepts and enable them to learn more about newest capabilities.
For more information, see OpenText Extended ECM Business Scenario: User Guide.
• Background images: For every business scenario, a background image is now included in the
transports to create a visually attractive shortcut tile to the departmental page.
For more information, see OpenText Extended ECM Business Scenario: User Guide.
• OpenOffice Formats: Annotate, publish, and transform ODT, ODS, and ODP file formats.
Document generation
No new features introduced.
• User Proxies (Delegation): Enterprise Connect supports the Extended ECM proxy user feature.
Using Enterprise Connect, users can work with content on behalf of another user based on
permissions assigned in Extended ECM. To learn more about how to work with proxy users in

connects to Extended ECM. For more information, see Microsoft 365 Administration Guide.
• Upgrading the Outlook Web Add-in: A change has been made to the Business Workspace
Outlook Add-in File manifest to support OAUTH 2.0 for single sign-on. If single sign-on has been
Note: If using ADFS for SSO, the BusinessWorkspace.Manifest.xml file must be edited and the
URL to your ADFS server must be added to the manifest before being deployed to your O365 tenant.
• Extended ECM Teams App: The app has been enhanced to allow a user to select a file from
Extended ECM and share the link in a Teams chat. For more information, see Microsoft 365
Administration Guide.
• Microsoft Teams: Remove the Business Workspace Team tab when the connection between the
Business Workspace and the Team is also removed.
• Linux 9 Environments: The integration between Microsoft Purview Information Protection and
Extended ECM is not supported on Linux 9 environments due to an identified incompatibility.
OpenText will provide an update on the topic.
• WebReports Smart Style reportviews: Two Smart Style reportview templates provide a no
code/low code way to quickly create a report consistent with Smart View.
Smart Style SmartUI SDK Browse reportview provides a preconfigured WebReport to display a
native Smart browse table with multi-file actions, facet panel, and inline and multi-select actions when
used with a data source such as a container.
Smart Style SmartUI SDK Browse with WebReports Processor reportview provides a partially
preconfigured WebReport to display a native Smart browse table with multi-file actions, facet panel,
and an option to update metadata or perform custom actions with the WebReports Processor. See the
WebReport Processor information in the following section and comment tips within the Smart Style
reportview.
For more information, see Smart Style Reportviews in Default Reportviews.
WebReport Processor: The WebReports Processor is designed for Smart Style templates to
improve performance. An action defined in the template sends a request to the WebReport
Processor, which uses a REST API to fetch and change data. Only specific atomic tags, sub-tags,
and some custom sub-tags are supported for use with the WebReports Processor. The
WebReports Processor and tags are enabled on the “Manage WebReports Processor” page. For
more information, see Manage WebReports Processor.
• Visual Count full page widget: Click-through data functionality is available for the Visual Count
full page widget. Use the Visual Count Widget – Grouping on Client JSON reportview for your
WebReport in order for the data to be grouped in the browser, making it clickable. For more
information, see Default Reportviews.
• Change ownership of controlled copies: Business administrators can now change the
ownership of controlled copies for single documents and for multiple documents. This change is
no longer restricted to orphaned copies.
• Subfolders in the Control Rules volume: Printing Rules and Viewing Rules of Controlled
Viewing and Printing can now be sorted into subfolders for better organization.
• Disposition widget: The Disposition widget displays Disposition and Accession searches in a
landing page tile. Expand the widget to access a list of Disposition Groups and Dispositions and
Accession searches with options to view the Status, Next run, search criteria and to start
searches. For more information, see Using the dispositions page.
• Disposition and Accession Search in Smart View: Create and configure the search criteria for
Disposition and Accession searches in Smart View. For more information, see Create a
disposition search and Configure the search criteria for a disposition search.
Configure the Disposition and Accession permissions and from the Properties, configure
notifications, the review process, and disposition search settings in Smart View. For more
information, see Configure the properties and permissions for a disposition search.
Start Disposition and Accession searches from the inline “Start Search” button. Click the name of
the Disposition or Accession to view previously run searches (Snapshots.) For more information,
see Start a disposition search and View disposition snapshots.
• Disposition Groups in Smart View: Create, modify, and delete Disposition groups in Smart
View. For more information, see Create a disposition group.
• Records Management support for container responsiveness (automatic refresh): When the
following actions are performed by a user, other users will automatically see the related icons
added or removed depending on the action:
• Apply/Remove RM Classifications
• Apply/Remove Holds
• Finalize/Add/Remove Mark Official
• Add/Remove Cross-references
For more information, see Container notifications and responsiveness.
• Restrict add and remove standard Classifications from items: The privilege to add and
remove standard Classifications from items can be controlled using Records Management
Functional Access by adding Managed Object - Classification – Apply and Managed Object –
• Physical Object REST API to create labels: The REST API POST
/api/v1/physicalobjects/importLabels is available at OpenText Developer APIs.
• Security Clearance in Proxy mode: When in Proxy mode, the proxy user can access content of
the Assignee user if the content has Security Clearance levels equal to or lower than the proxy
user or has the same Supplemental Markings as the proxy user. For more information, see
Acting as a full access proxy: effects on privileges and permissions.
• Improved synchronization of user to groups: The report that adds or removes users in
Extended ECM groups based on their user-to-role assignment in SAP is optimized, to consider
just the new users instead of all users.
For more information, see OpenText Extended ECM for SAP Solutions: User Management and
Access Control Scenarios.
• Support OpenText Office Editor in SAP GUI Edge mode: Office Editor can be used out-of-the-
box in the Extended ECM Business Content Window when working in SAP GUI Edge mode.
For more information, see OpenText Extended ECM for SAP Solutions: Customizing Guide.
• Create documents with Categories via API: You can create a document with a Category from
the SAP application via the Extended ECM for SAP Solutions Library Service to store content with
mandatory attributes in an automated way.
For more information, see Extended ECM for SAP Solutions - SDK and API documentation.
• Support SAP GUI for Windows 8.00 (32-bit): Extended ECM supports the newest version of
SAP GUI for Windows 8.00 (32-bit) including business content window, viewers, and office
editors.
For more information, see Chapter 6.6.2 Supported SAP GUIs.
• System report: System report shows the number of active users of SAP SuccessFactors to
validate the usage count.
2.3.9.3 Salesforce
• Configuration and Diagnostic report: Both reports have been extended to include new
configuration settings for the ‘Merge Workspace’ function.

notifications in their Notification Center when the share on items shared between Extended ECM
and Core Share is going to expire . For more information, see External Sharing and Collaboration
Guide.
• Notifications for share approval: Share coordinators and share administrators will receive
notifications in their Notification Center when items require their approval in order to be shared
from Extended ECM to Core Share. For more information, see External Sharing and
Collaboration Guide.
Developer
• OUNIT Feature - The "OScript -> Unit Test" preferences has introduced a feature called the
"Show OUnit view when unit tests are run" option. This option, mirrored in the Preference page,
helps when OUnit is not open and the user has not configured the view to show test execution.
For more information, see Content Server SDK Guide.
• OUNIT Feature - The "OScript -> Unit Test" preferences has introduced a feature called the
"Number of unit tests to group into a single execution" option. Entering a number here will result in
CSIDE dividing or chunking unit test executions into discrete batches. The order of test execution
is unaffected. Chunking test execution allows CSIDE to provide test execution feedback sooner
and it also allows for un-executed unit test batches to be cancelled (the currently executing test
batch will run to completion). For more information, see Content Server SDK Guide.
• OUNIT Feature - All "run unit test options" now have a "calculate test coverage" option. Selecting
this option results in CSIDE recording the invocation of any functions that exist in the workspace
or OScript explorer. Once tests have been executed the coverage report view is displayed. For
more information, see Content Server SDK Guide.
• CSIDE Patch Tool - CSIDE now provides convenience functionality for patch creation. For more
information, see Content Server SDK Guide.
Add-on Engineering

• Dynamic Workflow and email notification: The main document names have been added to the
email notifications.
• Dynamic Workflow and email notification: Task creators now have the option to 'send
immediate email notifications, which will dispatch an email alert regardless of individual settings.
• Dynamic Workflow and document audit: Workflow name was added to the Workflow events in
the document audit.
• Proxy user management: Functionality was improved, moved to xECM core, and becomes
available to all xECM users. Accessing and setting up proxy users is available to users via the
Profile menu. Administrators can manage proxy users in the administration area. In the Landing
page, the proxy widgets have become obsolete. For more information, see Smart View User
Guide: OpenText Extended ECM.
After a certain period, functionality is officially discontinued. It is removed from the product and certain
cross-product compatibility is no longer maintained. OpenText offers either automatic conversion to
newer functionality, or if not possible for technical or commercial reasons, gives advance notice by
announcing the deprecation of the feature in the Release Notes.
Discontinued
Binders and Cases object types: Have been discontinued starting with version 22.4. They have
been replaced by Business Workspaces and were no longer recommended for new implementations
since 2017 (release 16.2.0). Customers need to convert existing Binders and Cases into Business
Workspaces using the migration utilities available with Extended ECM. For more information, see
Knowledge Base Article.
Old SAPUI5 components: Starting with version 22.4, both SAPUI5 components without the Create
and Complete function for Business Workspace creation are discontinued. They have been replaced
by newer components in 20.2. For more information, see Extended ECM for SAP Solutions - SDK
and API Documentation.
Engineering Workspace rule has been dropped from the Perspective Manager. OpenText
recommends that you use the Workspace Template rule while creating Perspectives.
Imaging Reviews and Notes: Has been discontinued as of CE 23.1. It should not be used for any
new deployments. As part of the discontinuation, added a utility that migrates notes and annotations
to be directly accessible using Extended ECM Imaging Viewers configurations for the ArchiveLink
documents, which can be used for existing deployments.
Smart View light theme CSS file: Smart View light theme CSS file (/img/csui/themes/
light/overrides.css), which provides the CSS styles for light theme, is discontinued in Extended ECM
23.1.
PostgreSQL Helm sub-charts: Beginning in CE 23.4, the Extended ECM Helm charts will not
include the sample PostgreSQL sub-charts otcs-db, otac-db, otpd-db (they were not intended
or supported for production scenarios).
Email notifications for shared Items in an error state: This feature has been deprecated in CE
23.3 and will be discontinued in CE 23.4. Email notifications will no longer be sent to share
administrators for items that are shared from Extended ECM to Core Share and have transitioned into
an error state. The email notifications will be replaced by in-app notifications in the Notification Center
in Extended ECM.
Tempo Box support: CE 22.4 is the last update that will have the ability to support Tempo Box
integration.
Old auto format feature: With CSIDE 16.2.8 a new implementation of the OScript Auto Format
feature was introduced while retaining the option to switch to the old implementation using a
Preferences switch. With the 23.2 update the "old" auto format implementation and the Preference
switch will be removed from the CSIDE code. Starting with CSIDE 23.2 the "new" auto format
implementation will be the only OScript auto format option.
Deprecated
The following features are deprecated and will be discontinued in the future:
Email Archiving in Enterprise Connect: Email Archiving is deprecated and beginning in CE 24.4,
Email Archiving functionality will no longer be available in Enterprise Connect.
Content Sharing Icons: The icon used to represent an item shared between Extended ECM and
Core Share or Microsoft Teams is changing. Beginning in CE 24.1, the icon will be replaced either
with the Core Share icon for items shared with Core Share or it will be replaced with the Teams icons
for items that are shared with Microsoft Teams.
Enterprise Connect Outlook Add-in: Microsoft has announced the release of a new Outlook for
Windows that does not support COM/VSTO based Outlook add-ins. Since Enterprise Connect
Outlook add-in is COM/VSTO based, this Outlook add-in will NOT be compatible with the new Outlook
for Windows. Please review the following Knowledge Base article for more information about this
topic.
https://support.opentext.com/csm?id=kb_article_view&sysparm_article=KB0796007
Outlook Web Add-in: Due to Microsoft’s announcement of the deprecation of the EWS API for
Exchange Online, customers are advised to switch to the Microsoft Graph API. A configuration option
has been added to enter the Azure Application Identifier and credentials which are required for the
Outlook Web Add-in to connect to Exchange Online and retrieve EML files.
Remote Cache: Is deprecated and should not be used for new installations. Syndication should be
explored as a replacement.
Project and Community object types have been replaced by Business Workspaces and are no
longer recommended for new implementations. OpenText is planning to discontinue these object
types in the fourth quarter of 2024 (release CE 24.4) and is recommending converting existing
Projects and Communities into Business Workspaces using the migration utilities available with
Extended ECM.
Business Workspaces: The Import Configuration for Workspace Types, Unique Names, and
Business Object Types with an XML file has been deprecated since CE 21.4. As an alternative use
the Transport Warehouse.
Extended ECM Platform User Guide and Extended ECM Platform Admin Guide: These two
guides are now dissolved with CE 23.3. Information in the User Guide is transferred to the Smart View
User Guide. Information in the Admin Guide is available in the Extended ECM Platform Integration
and Configuration Guide.
Content Web Services: This feature has been deprecated as of CE 22.4. Content Web Services is
no longer recommended for new implementations and existing implementations should leverage the
REST API infrastructure.
Internal OTDS: The Internal version of OpenText Directory Service will be removed from the
Extended ECM package, with a target update of 24.3. OTDS is currently provided as a convenience
for easy installation of development, test, and demonstration systems. Connection to an OTDS
server will still be required.
Bulk Creation: Starting with CE 22.4 Bulk business object declaration program
/OTX/RLSA_0_WSC_CREATE_GEN is deprecated. Please use /OTX/RM_WSC_BATCH_CREATE
instead. Consequently, please replace any scheduled background job using
/OTX/RLSA_0_WSC_CREATE_GEN with a similar job using /OTX/RM_WSC_BATCH_CREATE.
Business Object Browser: Starting with CE 22.4, OpenText Business Object Browser is deprecated
and should not be used for new installations1. Instead, you can create SAP Fiori element apps based
on metadata and annotations of OData services and place the Fiori UI component for Business
Workspaces or Business Documents inside these generated Fiori element apps.
1
In other words, please do not install OTEXBASB. Furthermore, if you are not using OpenText
Vendor Invoice Management, please do not install OTBCBAS, OTBCWUI, OTVIMBAS, or OTVIMFUI.
Extended ECM for Salesforce App support of Salesforce Classic UI: OpenText Extended ECM
applications running in the Salesforce Classic user interface have been retired as of October 31, 2022
and will no longer be supported. Additional capabilities and feature configuration will only be available
in the Extended ECM by OpenText Lightning application going forward. If you are using Salesforce
Classic, you will need to switch to Salesforce Lightning mode to make configuration changes in the
new Extended ECM by OpenText Lightning application. For more information about switching to
Salesforce Lightning, please visit https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=000317946&type=1.
Document Self Service widget/Upload widget: Starting with release CE 22.2, this widget is
deprecated and is replaced by the File Upload widget in the platform. To avoid confusion the Upload
widget has been renamed to the Self Service widget.
SAP SuccessFactors Workspace Creation/Update (starting with CE 22.1): The previous job for
creating/updating Workspaces provided by versions CE 21.4 and earlier is deprecated and is no
longer being enhanced. Existing jobs of this type will continue to work but this feature will be
discontinued in future updates. For more information, see Customizing Guide: Migrating from
deprecated Workspace Creation/Update job to Central Workspace Creation/Update job.
Document Generation for Candidates (starting with CE 22.1): Document Generation for
candidates using the Employee Workspaces widget is no longer recommended. It is recommended
that you use the new Document Generation action from the Documents tab. For more information,
see User Guide: Generate documents with Extended ECM PowerDocs.
SAP SuccessFactors authentication change: By November 2023, SAP is going to enforce the use
of OAuth for integrations. Customers can only use the Central Workspace Update/Creation Job after
this date. In case the previous job for creating/updating Workspaces has been used, the migration
needs to be completed by this date. Extended ECM CE 21.4 or earlier will stop functioning in this
scenario.
OCC (OpenText Capture Center): Extended ECM for Government and Extended ECM Add-on
Government contain Capture Center, that automatically captures and interprets paper documents,
using document and character recognition software. Capture Center is with version 16.5 end-of-life.
We strongly recommend reviewing the sustained maintenance on Knowledge OpenText. After
Document Presentment (DP) and Document Presentment Live (DP Live): Plan to deprecate
solutions for release CE 24.4, which are included in the products Extended ECM for Government and
SAP Extended ECM for Government by OpenText.
Freeze functionality deprecated: Freeze is covered by Closure (Z.d.A.) and for that reason will be
deprecated. Freeze will no longer be available on Documents or Workspaces.
Interactive Correspondence for Content Server (ICCS), the Content Server module which provides
document generation with Exstream, is now deprecated. Instead, use Extended ECM PowerDocs,
which is the fully integrated method for document generation. OpenText intends to discontinue ICCS
by early 2025.

Due to some security fixes introduced in the Extended ECM Mobile App
22.3, devices running the app must have their Gateway URL
reconfigured.
To resolve the issue of Extended ECM Mobile CE having no connectivity,
each device running Content Server Mobile must connect to the
AppWorks Gateway for security updates. Perform the following steps:
1. In Extended ECM Mobile CE, tap Settings.
2. The Server setting has the network address of your AppWorks
Gateway server. Tap Server.
3. On the Server page, tap the check mark icon to re-initialize your
Server setting.
After you do this, Extended ECM Mobile CE can connect to the AppWorks
Gateway server.
Office 365 Integration Service 2016, 2019, and SharePoint Support for App-Only
23.4 Online Authentication requires
SharePoint 2019.
6.3 Kubernetes
Extended ECM is available as Docker images and Helm charts to be deployed in Kubernetes, a
container-orchestration system.
Customers who expect to remain on CE 23.4 past this date should consider
creating and managing their own containers or use traditional methods of
installation and patching.
Customers who choose to use a virtual environment are encouraged to select a virtualization platform
intended for production systems and that is known to be fully supported by the server operating
system vendor.
Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, and AWS are supported virtualization environments.
All file types are supported on Windows and Linux except where indicated.
MIME type extraction is supported for all file types except CDR.
On Linux operating systems, only Western languages are supported for View as Web Page and
Thumbnails.

The CMIS attribute type Document Category is treated as an external document type. For this
release, the following table lists supported entities, Workspaces, and corresponding SAP
SuccessFactors Document Categories. Business administrators can create corresponding Extended
ECM document types (Classification) to control the storage logic of SAP SuccessFactors’s Document
Categories. Documents which are uploaded for SuccessFactors entities that do not have
corresponding Workspace definitions will be stored in the technical repository (CMIS volume) and can
only be accessed by Extended ECM System Administrators. Employees or HR Business partners can
only access these documents from the SAP SuccessFactors user interface. Please note that the
Document Categories might vary from SAP SuccessFactors tenant to tenant. The following table only
lists standard SuccessFactors Document Categories.

The Extended ECM for Salesforce App advances quickly and it is important to match the OpenText
Extended ECM Platform versions with the matching Extended ECM for Salesforce App Packages. For
example, Extended ECM for Salesforce 23.4 is tested and certified to work with Extended ECM CE
23.4. While it might be possible to run misaligned versions, it is neither recommended nor officially
supported by OpenText Support.
Salesforce limitations
• Salesforce Console:
o The Extended ECM for Salesforce UI components such as ECM Attachments, ECM
Files, ECM Perspective, ECM Legacy Files, and ECM Legacy Perspective are
currently not supported if used in combination with Salesforce Console apps.

If your Salesforce organization is using the user licenses model (and not the Salesforce Site License
model) for the Extended ECM for Salesforce application, you will need to move user licenses to the
new managed package application. You will need to move the user licenses from the Extended ECM
Content Services for Salesforce package component in the Installed Packages section in the
Salesforce Setup to the new Extended ECM for Salesforce application. Failure to transition licenses to
the new Extended ECM for Salesforce application will give your users a license violation.
Note
Extended ECM 23.4 is a rewrite of the existing Extended ECM for Engineering
16.3.x solution. Updates to this new software are released in parallel to the
updates of the existing Extended ECM 16.3.x. Both versions can co-exist in the
same Content Server instance. The existing instances of Extended ECM 16.3.x
cannot directly upgrade to Extended ECM 23.4 or subsequent Extended ECM CE
versions because the architecture and design differs from that of Extended ECM
16.3.x. However, the new projects can be configured to start using Extended ECM
23.4 capabilities.
The XENG module folder in <OTHOME>/module is not deleted during the upgrade because the JAR
files in the folder are in use. To avoid issues with these JAR files, stop Content Server and delete
these folders manually after the upgrade.
Extended ECM for Engineering CE has been enhanced to support version-specific relationships to
retain the relationships on older versions of the documents for auditing purposes.
A new relationship model with the following relationship types is implemented in the Extended ECM
for Engineering – CAD Manager module:
• Dynamic
• Static
• Node Specific
Records Management cross-references are supported only at the node level. Therefore, OpenText
recommends converting the existing CAD document relationships created using Records
Management cross-references to CAD document relationships.
1. Navigate to Content Server Administration > Database Administration > Test or Repair Known
Database Issues > Convert RM Cross References to CAD References.
Note: Records Management cross-references relationships stored in the KIni table
are considered for conversion. OpenText recommends validating the entries in the
KIni table before initiating the conversion.
2. Run the following SQL Query to fetch the existing Records Management cross-reference
types from the database:
SELECT * FROM KIni WHERE IniSection = 'xengcrt' AND IniKeyword IN ('Dynamic',
'Static', 'Node Specific')
3. Modify the entries in the KIni table to add or drop any Records Management cross-reference
type from the conversion process.
1. Export the Extended ECM databases from the existing server (such as PostgreSQL 11).
2. Import the database into a new database server (such as PostgreSQL 13).
a. Make sure databases and tables ownership are the same.
b. Make sure the database names, usernames, and passwords are the same.
3. Update the Helm chart settings with the new database server hostname to ensure the
automation and new instances will have the correct settings.
4. Update the Content Server opentext.ini file in all instances with the new database hostname:
a. Section “[dbconnection:<instance_name>]”, field “servname=<new_host>”.
5. Execute a “Helm upgrade” command to apply the settings and restart the pods.
8.1 Hotfixes
Hotfixes are small patches that address software issues. Typically, there is no new functionality in a
hotfix. Hotfixes can be cumulative.
The following table lists and describes the hotfixes available for this release.
