3 - Calculus-2 Lecture-Ch. 13.1-13.3 week 2

The document discusses parametric plots, specifically the curve defined by (cos t, sin t, t) for t ranging from 0 to 30. It introduces the concept of the TNB frame, which consists of orthogonal vectors T, N, and B that move along the curve and are significant in differential geometry and spacecraft motion. References to the Frenet trihedron and related formulas are provided for further exploration.

parametric plot (cos t, sin t, t) t = 0 to 30 - Wolfram|Alpha

……
……
……
Just an integral of
the length of the
tangent vector.
In general, the vectors T, N, and B, starting at the various points on a curve, form a
set of orthogonal vectors, called the TNB frame, that moves along the curve as t
varies. This TNB frame plays an important role in the branch of mathematics known
as differential geometry and in its applications to the motion of spacecraft.
