High Numbers – Theory
1. Hundreds (100–999)
100 = One hundred
250 = Two hundred and fifty
999 = Nine hundred and ninety-nine
👉 Note: When saying numbers between 100 and 999, say the hundred number first, then the
rest.
2. Thousands (1,000–999,999)
1,000 = One thousand
5,600 = Five thousand six hundred
23,450 = Twenty-three thousand four hundred and fifty
999,999 = Nine hundred ninety-nine thousand nine hundred and ninety-nine
👉 Note: When saying numbers in thousands, say the thousands first, then the hundreds and
smaller numbers.
Special Notes
Always say the larger number first (millions, thousands, hundreds), then the smaller
numbers.
Use “and” only when there is a smaller number after hundreds.
When saying large numbers, DO NOT make thousand, million, billion, trillion, etc.
