Examiner:
Please tell us what you can see in the photograph.
Candidate B, you just listen.
This photo shows two people in a kitchen. It looks like @ kitchen in someone's
house, not one you see in a restaurant. There's a man and a woman preparing
food. They look middle-aged and they might be a husband and wife. They are both
wearing something to protect their clothes. | don’t know the word for this, but
everyone has one hanging in the kitchen and you put it on when you prepare food.
It Looks like the woman is getting the vegetables ready and the man is cutting
something up, it looks like meat. | think they are making the evening meal and they
both look very happy.
Thank you.
Candidate B. Here is your photograph. It shows people in a shopping centre.
Please tell us what you can see in the photograph.
Candidate A, you just listen.
‘There are more than three people in this photo but there are three together at the
front. They look like three friends who are out shopping. There is another person
in the background, but | don’t know if he is with them or not. The girl on the left is
wearing a long top and dark trousers, the man in the middle is wearing a jacket
‘and a jumper and the girl on the right is wearing a scarf round her neck, a dark top,
jeans and a long dark cardigan. They're all carrying shopping bags. One of the girls
is pointing to something, it might be something in a shop window, and the other two
are looking in the same direction.
Thank you.

Now, in this part of the test you're going to talk about something together for about
two minutes. I'm going to describe a situation to you.
‘Aman’s daughter is going on a camping holiday. He wants to buy her something she
can take with her.
Here are some things he could get.
Talk together about the different things he could get her and say which one would
be best.
Allright? Now talk together.
So, we need to choose something that's good tor a camping holiday. | don’t think the
shoes are useful, do you?
No, | agree, but the walking boots might be a good present if the person is doing a
lot of walking in the countryside. What about the bags?
I think the backpack is better than the suitcase. I's the kind of bag someone uses
for camping, isn't it?
That's true. I don’t think the alarm clock is a good idea. When you go on holiday you
don’t need to get up early. Do you? But the map could be useful if she’s walking and
she doesn’t know the area very well
agree, but the map is very cheap. | think her father would like to spend a bit more
money on her present. | think your idea for him to buy walking boots is the best so
far. What about the camera?
That's another special present. But she probably has a phone with a camera so it
‘might not be very useful. Shall we agree he should buy her the walking boots then?
Yes, let's say that
Thank you.
