Frame 1 (Where you live now)

Let’s talk about where you live now

Which town or city do you live in now?

I currently live in Hải Dương, a small but bustling city in northern Vietnam. It’s well-known for
its green spaces and peaceful atmosphere, which provide a nice escape from the hustle and
bustle of larger cities like Hanoi. I really enjoy the community spirit here; everyone is friendly
and supportive. Plus, the local food is simply to die for!

Are there any things you don’t like about your area? (What are they?)
Well, as much as I love Hải Dương, there are a few things that bug me. For one, the
infrastructure can be a bit behind the times. The roads can get quite congested during peak
hours, which is a bit of a pain. Additionally, there aren't many entertainment options for
young people like myself, so sometimes it feels like you’re stuck between a rock and a hard
place in terms of things to do.

Do you think you will continue to live there for a long time? (Why? Why not?)
To be honest, I don’t see myself living in Hải Dương for the long haul. While it’s a great
place for now, I’d like to spread my wings and move to a bigger city, maybe Hanoi or even
abroad, where there are more career opportunities. That said, home is where the heart is, so
I’ll always have a soft spot for Hải Dương.

What are some changes in the area recently?

There have been quite a few changes in Hải Dương recently. For one, new roads and
bridges have been built, making it easier to get around. The city has also seen more modern
cafes and restaurants popping up, which is a breath of fresh air. However, with development,
we’re also seeing a bit of environmental degradation, which is a double-edged sword.

Do you live in a house or an apartment?

I live in a house with my family in Hải Dương. It’s a traditional Vietnamese home with a
lovely garden out front and plenty of space. I really enjoy the sense of privacy and the cozy
atmosphere it brings, especially since I’ve grown up here.

What is your favourite room in your home? (Why?)

My favorite room is definitely my bedroom. It’s my little sanctuary where I can unwind after a
long day. I’ve decorated it with things I love, like books, photos, and fairy lights, so it feels
warm and personal. Plus, it’s where I can get some peace and quiet to focus on my studies
or writing.

What things make your home pleasant to live in? (Why?)

The garden is one of the main things that makes my home pleasant. It’s always nice to have
a bit of greenery around to relax and breathe in fresh air. Also, my family has a really strong
bond, so the home always feels warm and inviting, making it the perfect place to live.

Are the people in your neighbourhood nice and friendly?

Yes, the people in my neighborhood are generally very nice and friendly. We often greet
each other when passing by, and there’s a real sense of community. Whenever there’s a
local event or festival, everyone comes together, which I think is heartwarming.
Do you know any of your neighbours?
I know a few of my neighbours quite well, especially those who live closest to us. We
sometimes chat casually when we run into each other, and they’re always happy to lend a
hand if we need anything. It’s comforting to have good relations with the people living around
you.

Is the place where you live quiet or noisy?

For the most part, my neighbourhood is pretty quiet, especially at night. However, during the
day, it can get a bit noisy when kids are playing outside or when there’s construction going
on. But overall, it’s a peaceful place to live.

Frame 2 (Work/ Study)

Do you work or are you a student?
I’m currently a high school student, and I’m working hard to prepare for my final exams and
the IELTS. Being a student keeps me on my toes, but I enjoy the learning process and the
sense of achievement it brings when I master a new topic.

What is your favourite place to study?

My favorite place to study is in my bedroom. It’s quiet and comfortable, and I’ve set it up with
everything I need, like my books, laptop, and a cozy study corner. Having a familiar and
peaceful environment helps me stay focused.

Do you prefer to study at home or in the library? ( Why?)

I prefer to study at home because it’s more convenient, and I can create my own study
atmosphere without distractions. However, when I need a change of scenery or feel like I
need a more focused environment, the library is also a great option. At home, I can study at
my own pace and take breaks whenever I need to.

What part of your school do you like the most?

I really like the literature room at my school. It’s where my favorite subject is taught, and it
always has an inspiring atmosphere. Plus, I’m part of the literature team, so it’s a space that
holds a lot of special memories for me.

What do you find most interesting about your studies? (Why?)

The most interesting part of my studies is definitely literature. I love how it allows me to
explore different perspectives and emotions through stories and poetry. It really sparks my
creativity and helps me develop a deeper understanding of the world around me.

Which is more important to you—the teachers or the other students on your course?
I think both are important, but if I had to choose, I would say the teachers. Good teachers
make all the difference; they can inspire you and make even the most difficult subjects
interesting. They also guide you through your learning journey, helping you understand
concepts better. That said, having supportive classmates is also important for collaboration
and motivation.

How much time do you spend studying every week?

I spend around 20 to 25 hours a week studying, especially now that I’m preparing for the
IELTS and my other exams. It can be a bit overwhelming at times, but I try to stick to a
schedule and balance it with other activities.

How do you usually travel to the city where you study?

I live quite close to my school, so I usually travel by electronic bicycle. It’s convenient and
helps me stay active. Plus, it gives me a few moments to clear my mind before and after
classes.

Do you study best in the morning or the afternoon? (Why?)

I definitely study best in the afternoon. In the morning, I’m usually still waking up and not fully
alert. By the afternoon, I feel more focused and energized, which helps me absorb
information more effectively. My brain just seems to work better later in the day!

Have you always wanted to study this subject/ these subjects (Why/ Why not?)
Yes, I’ve always been passionate about literature, which is why it’s my favorite subject. I love
the way stories and poems can evoke emotions and provide deep insights into human
nature. Other subjects, like English and history, also interest me because they broaden my
perspective and challenge me to think critically.

Part 1
Riding a Bicycles

Do you like riding a bicycle?

Yes, I really enjoy riding a bicycle. It’s a great way to get around, stay active, and enjoy the
fresh air. It also gives me a sense of freedom and allows me to explore my neighborhood at
my own pace. Plus, it’s eco-friendly, which is important to me.

Are there many young people riding bicycles in VietNam ?

In Vietnam, you’ll still see young people riding bicycles, especially in smaller towns and rural
areas. However, in bigger cities, motorbikes tend to be more popular because they’re faster
and more convenient. That said, bicycles are making a bit of a comeback among students
and environmentally conscious people.

Would you cycle more in the future?

I would love to cycle more in the future, especially if I move to a city with better cycling
infrastructure. It’s a healthy and sustainable way to travel, and I enjoy the sense of calm it
brings. If the roads become safer for cyclists, I would definitely consider using a bike as my
primary mode of transport.

Do you think bicycles would do well in your city?

Bicycles could do well in Hải Dương if there were more bike lanes and better road safety
measures in place. The city isn’t too big, so cycling would be a practical and eco-friendly
option. However, the current traffic conditions can be a bit challenging for cyclists, so
improvements are definitely needed to encourage more people to ride
Talk with others
Do you like to talk to others?
Yes, I do enjoy talking to others. It’s a great way to connect with people and share ideas. I
especially like having deep, meaningful conversations with friends or discussing interesting
topics. It helps me learn new things and see the world from different perspectives.

Did you like to talk to others when you were a child?

As a child, I was a bit shy, so I didn’t talk to others as much. I preferred listening to people
and observing before speaking. However, over time, I became more confident and started
enjoying conversations more, especially with close friends and family.

Do you talk a lot to others?

I wouldn’t say I talk a lot, but I do engage in conversations when I feel it’s meaningful or
when I’m with people I’m comfortable with. I’m more of a listener, but I enjoy sharing my
thoughts and ideas when the moment calls for it.

3. Making people laugh

Do you like watching movies that make you laugh?

Yes, I love watching movies that make me laugh. Comedy films are a great way to unwind
after a busy day. A good laugh always brightens my mood, and I appreciate movies that can
bring a smile to my face while still being clever and entertaining.

Do you find it easy to make others laugh?

I think I can make others laugh if I try, but it’s not always easy. Humor depends a lot on the
situation and the people you’re with. Sometimes, I have to be a bit creative with my jokes or
timing to get a good laugh, but I enjoy the challenge!

Do you think it’s a good thing if you always make others laugh?
It’s great to make people laugh, as laughter can bring joy and lighten the mood. However, I
think it’s important to balance humor with sincerity. If you’re always the one making others
laugh, it’s essential to ensure that it’s not at the expense of deeper connections or
meaningful conversations.

When was the last time you laughed?

The last time I laughed was just yesterday when I was hanging out with my friends. We were
joking about something funny that happened at school, and it had me in stitches. It was one
of those moments where everything just felt lighthearted and fun.

4. Coins
Do you often carry coins with you?
I don’t carry coins with me very often. Most of the time, I use digital payments or banknotes
for transactions. Coins are a bit bulky, and they’re not always necessary unless I need to pay
for something small, like a bus ride or a vending machine.
Have you ever collected coins?
Yes, I have collected coins before, mainly as a hobby when I was younger. I used to keep
coins from different countries and some special ones with unique designs. It was fun to look
at them and learn about their history.

Do you think it’s convenient to use coins?

Coins can be convenient for small purchases or situations where exact change is needed.
However, I think digital payments or banknotes are more practical for everyday use because
they’re lighter and easier to carry around in bulk. Coins tend to pile up and can be a bit
inconvenient to manage.

5. Streets and Roads

Are the roads and streets in the area where you live busy?
The roads in my area can be quite busy, especially during rush hour. While Hải Dương is not
as crowded as bigger cities, there’s still a lot of traffic due to the mix of motorbikes, cars, and
pedestrians. It can get a bit chaotic at times, but it’s not overwhelming.

How do people cross the road in the city where you live?
In Hải Dương, people usually cross the road by walking in the busiest spots, without much
regard for traffic signals. It’s common to see people wait for a gap in traffic and then walk
across, which can sometimes feel a bit risky. Pedestrian crossings are there, but they’re not
always respected.

How is the condition of the roads in your city?

The roads in Hải Dương are generally in decent condition, but some of the older roads could
use some repair. There are a few potholes and uneven surfaces, especially in areas that
aren’t as developed. The newer roads are much smoother and more reliable, though.

Do you think the roads in your city need improvement?

Yes, I think there is room for improvement, especially in terms of pedestrian infrastructure.
Adding more pedestrian crossings, better sidewalks, and clearer road markings would make
the city safer for everyone. Traffic congestion could also be reduced if there were better road
management and more public transport options.

6. Fish and Fishing

Do you like fish or fishing?
I do like fish, especially when it's prepared well. I enjoy various types of fish, such as grilled
or steamed, and I find it quite delicious. However, I’m not particularly fond of fishing. I think it
would be interesting to try, but I’m more of an admirer than a participant when it comes to
fishing.

Is fishing popular in your country?

Yes, fishing is quite popular in Vietnam, especially in rural areas and coastal regions. Many
people rely on fishing as their main source of income, and it’s also a popular recreational
activity for families during weekends or holidays.

Did you like eating fish when you were a child?

Yes, I liked eating fish when I was a child. It was a common dish in my family, and I enjoyed
the variety of ways it was cooked, from soups to fried dishes. The flavors were always
comforting.

Have you ever been to a place where there are lots of fish around you?
I’ve been to a few places, especially near the coast, where I saw lots of fish swimming in
clear water. I’ve also visited some aquariums that had large tanks with various species of
fish. It’s fascinating to see so many different types up close.

Have you watched the TV program about fish?

Yes, I’ve watched a few documentaries about marine life and fish, and I find them very
informative and calming. They often show underwater footage of fish in their natural habitat,
which is both beautiful and educational.

Do you have a favourite teacher?

Yes, I do have a favorite teacher. She is my literature teacher, and her passion for the
subject is contagious. She makes literature come to life and encourages me to think critically
and creatively, which has helped me grow both academically and personally.

How has she/he helped you?

She has helped me improve my writing skills and my understanding of literature. Her
insightful feedback and encouragement have boosted my confidence, and she has inspired
me to pursue my interests with more enthusiasm and commitment.

Do you want to be a teacher in the future?

I haven’t really considered becoming a teacher, but I think it could be rewarding. I love
learning and sharing knowledge, so teaching might be a fulfilling career path if I ever choose
to go down that route in the future.

Who was your favourite teacher in elementary school? Why?

My favorite teacher in elementary school was my Vietnamese language teacher. She was
kind, patient, and always found ways to make learning fun. Her ability to make complex
topics seem easy and her encouragement made me enjoy school a lot more.

Beautiful Views

Where can you enjoy beautiful views in where you live?

In Hải Dương, you can enjoy beautiful views at the parks, especially around the riverside
areas. The natural scenery there is quite peaceful, with greenery and calm waters, perfect
for relaxing. There are also some areas in the outskirts where you can enjoy rural
landscapes.

What’s the best view that you have ever enjoyed?

The best view I’ve ever enjoyed was from a hilltop in a nearby area. I could see the whole
city below, with the sun setting in the distance, painting the sky with shades of orange and
pink. It was so peaceful and beautiful, and I’ll always remember it.

Do you take photos of good views? Yes, I love taking photos of good views. Whenever I
come across a beautiful landscape or an interesting scene, I try to capture it on camera. It’s
a great way to preserve memories and appreciate the beauty around me.

Do you book rooms that have good views when you go travelling? Yes, I prefer
booking rooms with good views when I travel. Whether it’s a city skyline, a mountain view, or
a lakeside, having a nice view from my room enhances the travel experience and makes my
stay more enjoyable.

Relax
What would you do to relax? To relax, I usually enjoy reading a good book, listening to
calming music, or going for a walk in nature. These activities help me clear my mind and
unwind after a busy day. Sometimes, I also take a break by watching a movie or enjoying a
cup of coffee.

Do you think doing sports is a good way to relax? Yes, I think sports can be a great way
to relax. Physical activity helps release stress and boosts your mood by producing
endorphins. Whether it’s going for a jog, doing yoga, or playing a team sport, it provides a
break for both the body and mind, making it an effective way to relax.

Do people like to listen to music to relax? Yes, many people enjoy listening to music to
relax. Music has a calming effect on the mind and can help people unwind after a stressful
day. Some prefer soft instrumental music, while others might enjoy relaxing tunes in their
favorite genres, depending on their mood.

Do you think students need more relaxing time? Yes, I believe students need more
relaxing time. With the pressures of schoolwork, exams, and extracurricular activities,
students often don’t get enough time to relax and recharge. Having more downtime can help
students reduce stress and maintain a healthy balance between studying and personal well-
being.

Perfume
Do you like perfume? Yes, I like perfume. It’s a nice way to express personality and
enhance your presence. A good fragrance can make you feel more confident and leave a
lasting impression.

What kind of perfume do you like? I prefer floral and fresh scents, especially those with

for daily wear. I also enjoy perfumes with subtle, sweet undertones that are not

thoughtful and personal present, as long as you know the person’s preferences. A good
perfume can feel like a luxury treat and is often appreciated for its elegance.

Do you think it is expensive? Perfume can be expensive, depending on the brand and the
quality. High-end perfumes often come with a higher price tag due to the complexity of the
ingredients and the branding. However, there are also many affordable options that still offer
a good fragrance.

people allows me to learn from different perspectives and share experiences. Building

mainly through school, events, or mutual friends. I don’t meet new people all the time, but
when I do, I enjoy getting to know them and forming new connections.

school project. We started talking about our shared interests in literature, and it turned out
we had a lot in common. It’s been fun getting to know them better.

Do your friends think you are calm? Yes, my friends usually think I am calm. I tend to stay
composed in most situations, which helps me think clearly and handle things more
effectively. They often come to me for advice when they need someone to listen or remain
level-headed.

When you meet someone for the first time, do you know if you like them? (Why/Why
not?) It’s not always immediate, but I often get a sense of whether I like someone after our
first interaction. I pay attention to how we communicate and whether I feel comfortable
around them. Sometimes, it takes a little time to build a deeper connection, but I can usually
tell if we share common values or interests right away.

Teamwork

everyone to contribute their strengths and ideas, which can lead to better solutions and a
more dynamic work environment. Working with others can also be a great way to learn new
skills and perspectives.

especially during school projects and group assignments. I’ve learned to communicate
effectively and delegate tasks, which makes teamwork more efficient and enjoyable.

Have you ever worked in a group in junior high school? Yes, I worked in groups during
junior high school for various subjects, such as science projects and literature discussions. It
was a great opportunity to practice teamwork and develop collaborative skills at an early
age.

Are you currently working in a group? Yes, I am currently working in a group for a
science project at school. We’re researching the influence of popular culture on students,
and each of us is responsible for different parts of the project, which helps us make progress
faster.

Do you prefer to work alone or in a group? I prefer to work in a group because I believe
that teamwork brings out the best in each member. It’s easier to generate ideas and solve
problems together. However, I also enjoy working alone when I need time to focus and
concentrate deeply on specific tasks.

Free time
What do you like to do in your free time? In my free time, I enjoy reading, writing, and

Music
Do you like music? (Why / Why not?)
Yes, I love music. It has the power to express emotions, tell stories, and connect people. I
find it comforting and uplifting, whether I'm listening to music to relax or to energize myself.

What kind of music is there in Vietnam? In Vietnam, there is a wide variety of music, from
traditional genres like nhạc dân tộc (folk music) to contemporary styles like nhạc trẻ (modern
pop music). Vietnamese music also blends influences from Western pop, rock, and hip-hop,
alongside traditional instruments and melodies, making the music scene very diverse.

What type of music do you like to listen to when you are alone? Why? When I’m alone,
I prefer listening to soft, calming music, like acoustic or classical. It helps me clear my mind
and relax. Sometimes, I enjoy slower ballads or instrumental music because it gives me
space to think and reflect.

How do you think music will appear in the future? I think music in the future will become
more immersive and interactive, with advancements in technology like virtual reality and AI.
There might be personalized music experiences tailored to individual tastes and moods,
allowing listeners to engage with music in ways that we can't yet imagine.

Do you think older and younger generations prefer different types of music? Yes, I
think there are differences in musical preferences between older and younger generations.
Older generations tend to appreciate traditional music or the classic hits from their time,
while younger generations might prefer modern pop, rap, or electronic music. However,
there is always overlap, and both groups can enjoy music from different eras.

Is there any music concert that you want to go to? Yes, I would love to attend a live

football and basketball. I find the competition exciting and watching skilled players is
entertaining. It’s also a great way to relax and bond with friends or family who share the

form of entertainment, and many people enjoy watching them. However, there could be
more variety in the types of sports covered, not just the mainstream ones.

Part 3

1. What’s the difference between home in the past and nowadays?

In the past, homes were often more traditional and spacious, typically designed for large,
extended families. Nowadays, with the rise of urbanization, homes have become more
compact and functional to suit the fast-paced lifestyle. For instance, modern apartments
often feature open-plan layouts to maximize space, something that was less common in
older homes. Back in the day, people valued durability and large yards, but today’s
generation often prioritizes convenience and smart-home technologies. These differences
reflect the changing needs and priorities of society.

2. Why are apartments welcome in some places while not in other places?

Apartments are more welcome in urban areas due to space constraints and the high
demand for housing. Cities often lack the land for large homes, so vertical living becomes a
practical solution. On the other hand, in rural or suburban areas, where land is more
abundant, people may prefer houses with larger spaces and gardens. It’s a double-edged
sword; in some places, apartments offer affordability and accessibility, while in others, they
can be seen as a disruption to the community’s traditional lifestyle.

3. What would people normally consider when they rent or buy a house or an
apartment?

When people decide to rent or buy a property, they usually consider factors like location,
price, and amenities. For instance, being close to public transportation, schools, or shopping
centers is often a priority. Price is, of course, a major consideration, and many buyers or
renters weigh their financial situation before making a decision. At the end of the day,
security and neighborhood reputation also play crucial roles in this process. Personal
preferences, such as style and space, will also heavily influence their choice.

4. Do different people have different preferences for houses or apartments?

Absolutely, people’s preferences vary based on their lifestyle and stage of life. For example,
young professionals often prefer apartments because they offer convenience, proximity to
work, and low maintenance. In contrast, families may opt for houses as they provide more
space and privacy. One man’s trash is another man’s treasure—while some enjoy the
hustle and bustle of city living in an apartment, others cherish the tranquility of suburban life
in a1. What important things do people tend to lose in daily life?

In daily life, people often tend to lose small but essential items like keys, wallets, phones,
and sometimes even important documents. These things are part of our everyday routine, so
it’s easy to take them for granted until they’re misplaced. In the digital age, people also
lose track of passwords or important emails. Losing these items can cause stress and
disrupt plans, so they’re considered important to keep track of.

2. How do they solve the problem of losing these things?

People usually solve this issue by creating habits or systems to minimize the chances of
losing things. For example, many use key hooks or designated spots at home for essentials
like keys and wallets. Others might use technology, such as phone apps that help track lost
items, like "Find My Phone" or Bluetooth trackers for keys and wallets. Prevention is better
than cure, so staying organized is key to avoiding the problem in the first place.

3. Why do some people lose things easily?

Some people tend to lose things easily because they may be disorganized or distracted.
Absent-mindedness or multitasking can lead to forgetting where they placed their
belongings. Others might be too busy, constantly juggling various tasks, which makes it hard
to focus on details like where they last left their keys. In some cases, people are naturally
more forgetful, especially when under stress or fatigue.

4. How should parents teach their children?

Parents should teach their children the value of organization and responsibility from a young
age. They can encourage kids to have specific places for their things, like a dedicated shelf
for toys or a drawer for school supplies. Leading by example is also crucial—when children
see their parents being organized, they’re likely to adopt the same habits. Parents can also
use positive reinforcement, praising children when they remember to put things in the right
place.

5. Is organization important for a child?

Yes, organization is vital for children as it helps them develop important life skills like time
management and responsibility. When a child learns to keep their things in order, it builds a
foundation for self-discipline and independence. As the saying goes, "A place for
everything, and everything in its place," teaching kids to be organized will make them
more efficient and less likely to feel overwhelmed by clutter or chaos later in life.

1. How can children help their parents at home?

Children can assist their parents in various ways, such as helping with chores like tidying
their room, setting the table, or doing laundry. Lending a hand in simple tasks like cooking
or gardening can also teach them life skills. Depending on their age, children can take on
more responsibility, like looking after younger siblings or helping with grocery shopping. This
not only lightens the load for parents but also fosters independence in children.

2. Should parents always help their children with everything?

Parents shouldn’t help their children with everything, as it’s important for kids to learn self-
reliance. Too much hand-holding can prevent children from developing problem-solving
skills and independence. Instead, parents should guide them and allow them to tackle
challenges on their own when appropriate. Striking a balance between support and
autonomy helps children build confidence and resilience.

3. What can children learn by helping others?

By helping others, children can learn empathy, kindness, and the value of teamwork. It also
teaches them the importance of giving back, whether through small acts of kindness or
assisting with larger responsibilities. Helping others encourages a sense of community and
teaches children that their actions can make a difference. This can shape their character and

4. Do neighbours often help each other in your country?

In some areas, neighbors frequently help each other, especially in smaller communities or
rural areas where the sense of solidarity is strong. Neighbors may share food, lend tools,

likely to engage with their neighbors, although there are still moments where communities
come together, like during holidays or natural disasters.

5. How do people know that their neighbours might need help?

People usually know their neighbors need help through direct communication or by
observing changes in behavior. For example, if a neighbor stops going out or appears
distressed, others might reach out. In close-knit communities, neighbors tend to notice when
someone is facing difficulties, such as after an illness or a family emergency. Sometimes, a
simple knock on the door or a friendly conversation can reveal that help is needed.

1. How often do you make appointments?

I regularly make appointments, especially for things like doctor’s visits, haircuts, or meetings
with friends or colleagues. In today’s busy world, staying on top of things requires planning

organized and ensures I can manage my time efficiently without last-minute stress.

2. Is it important to be punctual in your country?

Yes, punctuality is generally considered important in Vietnam, especially in professional or

formal settings. Time is of the essence, and arriving on time shows respect for others.

flexibility, and people may not always be as strict about timing. But overall, being punctual is
seen as a positive trait.

3. Is it easy to make an appointment in Vietnam?

It’s relatively easy to make an appointment in Vietnam, especially with the rise of online
booking systems for everything from medical appointments to restaurants. Thanks to
technology, many services are now accessible through apps, making the process more
convenient. That said, for some government or public services, the process might still be a
bit slow, requiring in-person visits or waiting in line. But overall, it’s getting easier with
modernization.
1. Why do some people choose to work in the medical field?

Many people choose to work in the medical field because they have a desire to help others
and make a meaningful difference in people’s lives. It’s a calling for many, as the

be attracted by the stability and respect that comes with working in healthcare, as well as the
continuous learning and challenges that keep the job engaging and rewarding.

2. How does working in a medical-related profession impact a person's life?

Working in a medical profession can have a significant impact on a person’s life, both
positively and negatively. On the one hand, it’s fulfilling to save lives and improve the well-
being of others, but on the other hand, it can be emotionally and physically demanding.
Long hours, stress, and the responsibility of making critical decisions can take a toll on a
person’s personal life. However, many find that the rewards far outweigh the challenges, as
they get to witness the positive outcomes of their work firsthand.

Yes, medical professionals are highly valued in society, especially after the global pandemic

members of the community, and they generally receive a high level of respect and
appreciation.

4. In your opinion, which profession is more important: doctors or nurses?

It’s difficult to say that one profession is more important than the other because both doctors

interdependent and essential for the proper functioning of the healthcare system. Each
brings unique skills and strengths to patient care.

5. How can technology influence medical-related professions in the future?

Technology will continue to have a transformative impact on medical professions in the

future. With advancements in artificial intelligence, robotics, and telemedicine,
healthcare delivery will become more efficient and accessible. For instance, AI can assist

reduce recovery time. Technology will also help streamline administrative tasks, giving
medical professionals more time to focus on patient care. In the long run, these innovations
could revolutionize the entire healthcare system.

When people grow older, they often enjoy more peaceful and leisurely activities that allow

spending time with family. Many elderly people also take pleasure in social activities like
playing cards, attending community events, or engaging in volunteer work to stay active and
connected with others.

2. Do you think grandparents can always have a good relationship with their
grandchildren?

While many grandparents and grandchildren share a close bond, it’s not always the case
that they will have a good relationship. Factors like geographical distance, generational

an ideal world, grandparents and grandchildren would share mutual respect and affection,
but it takes effort from both sides to build and maintain a strong relationship. Understanding
and communication play key roles in bridging the generation gap.

3. What can grandparents and grandchildren learn from each other?

Grandparents can teach their grandchildren life lessons, values, and family traditions that
help shape their identity. With years of experience, they often provide wisdom and
guidance that children can’t get from anyone else. On the other hand, grandchildren can
teach their grandparents about modern technology, new ways of thinking, and current
trends. This exchange helps both generations stay connected to the world and to each other,
allowing them to grow together in their relationship.

community involvement, volunteering, or pursuing creative activities like painting or crafting,
as these help keep them mentally active and socially connected.

1. Can you often see wildlife in Vietnam?
In Vietnam, it depends on where you are. If you visit rural areas, national parks, or nature
reserves, it’s common to see wildlife like birds, monkeys, and various species of reptiles.
Places like Cúc Phương National Park or Cát Tiên National Park are great for spotting
wildlife in their natural habitats. However, in urban areas, it’s much rarer to see wild animals,
apart from some common species like birds or insects.

2. Do you think wildlife is popular among children in Vietnam?

Yes, wildlife is quite popular among children in Vietnam, especially through school programs,
zoo visits, and nature-themed TV shows. Many children are fascinated by animals and enjoy
learning about them. Schools often organize trips to zoos or wildlife reserves, and children’s
books and cartoons frequently feature animals, helping to nurture their curiosity about
nature. However, environmental education about protecting wildlife could be more
emphasized to raise awareness from a young age.

3. Are there many documentary films about wildlife in Vietnam?

While there are some documentary films about wildlife in Vietnam, they’re not as widespread
as international documentaries. National broadcasters, such as VTV, occasionally produce
wildlife documentaries, focusing on the country's rich biodiversity and conservation efforts.
However, compared to global productions like BBC’s Planet Earth, Vietnam’s wildlife
documentaries are fewer in number and have a more limited reach. Nonetheless, there are
efforts to raise awareness of environmental issues and wildlife protection through these
films.

1. Why do we usually give gifts to children to praise their studies, but not to children
for sports awards?
In many cultures, academic achievements are often prioritized and seen as a key to future
success, so parents may feel more inclined to reward children for their studies. Education is
often viewed as a long-term investment, and gifts are used as a way to encourage
children to stay focused on their studies. On the other hand, sports, while valuable for
physical health and teamwork, may be considered more of a hobby or extracurricular
activity, which might explain why children are less frequently rewarded for sports
accomplishments in some families.

2. In what situations do you think it is good or bad to give gifts to children?

It can be good to give gifts to children when they’ve worked hard and achieved something,
whether academically or in sports, as it can serve as positive reinforcement and motivate
them to continue their efforts. However, it’s important to balance gifts with the understanding
that the reward should also be intrinsic, such as the satisfaction of accomplishing a goal.

On the other hand, giving too many gifts or using them to reward every small achievement
can have negative effects. It might lead children to expect material rewards for
everything they do, which could diminish their intrinsic motivation or create a sense of
entitlement. Gifts should be used thoughtfully to support development, not to replace the
value of effort and learning itself.
