egg or chicken

The question of whether the chicken or the egg came first is explored, concluding that the egg came first, as the first true chicken hatched from an egg laid by a proto-chicken. Research indicates that the protein essential for chicken egg formation is only found in chicken ovaries, implying that a chicken is necessary to produce a chicken egg. Additionally, genetic studies show that chickens are closely related to T-Rex, supporting the evolutionary lineage leading to modern chickens.

"What comes first, the egg or the chicken?

"

This question, better worded as "the chicken or the chicken egg?" is more
focused approach. That is - if a chicken is born from an egg, where did the egg
come from? Another chicken, presumably, which too must have come from an
egg. So which came first?
Research suggests that, the protein essential for the formation of chicken eggs
(OV- 17) is only found in chicken ovaries, Without it, the chicken egg shell could
not be formed. So, without a chicken, you technically can't get a chicken egg,
But this all depends on the nature and definition of a chicken egg in the first
place, After all, Is a chicken egg an egg laid by a chicken? or One that simply
contains a chicken?

Obviously the OV-17 bearing chicken had to come from somewhere. That is
where the proto-chicken will be involved. From the biological perspective, the
egg came first. This is because the first chicken would have hatched from an
egg laid by a bird that was not quite a chicken, but rather a bird that was very
similar to a chicken. So, an egg laying creature very similar to a chicken, which
we could call a proto-chicken (An animal nearly identical to the modern
chicken), which laid proto-chicken eggs gradually evolved. Over time, small
genetic mutations would have accumulated in the DNA of this bird, eventually
resulting in a genetic change that created the first true chicken. This means that
the first true chicken would have hatched from an egg laid by one of its non-
chicken ancestors.
Back in 2003, a unique fossil of the T-Rex was discovered with soft tissue intact – allowing scientists to
extract enough DNA for research. This 68-million-year fossil was compared to the DNA of 21 modern
animal species…and the result? The proteins found in the DNA of the T-Rex were most like those of the
chicken.

To further their research, the chicken was the first bird to have its genome sequenced. This means that
scientists found the particular order of their DNA. Doing this helped provide more evidence for scientists
to confirm that the chicken is currently the closest living relative to the T-Rex. But that doesn’t mean
that it is the direct ancestor of the chicken. They are in the same family but in different branches.

In conclusion, a different bird which laid the egg of the first chicken evolved and its DNA gradually
modified that resulting to the birth of the modern chicken we have. To put it more simply
by Neil deGrasse Tyson: "Which came first: the chicken or the egg? The egg –
laid by a bird that was not a chicken."
