I. OBJECTIVES At the end of the lesson, students should be
able to:
1. discuss the procedure on escorting and
seating the guest;

2. appreciate the importance on escorting and


seating the guest; and

3. perform escorting and seating the guest


according to the standard procedure in seating
the guests.

PROCEDURE
A. PRELIMINARY 1. Greetings

B. MOTIVATION “WHO AM I”

The teacher will divide the class into three


groups and provide each group with a set of
letters and a board. A picture clue will be
shown, and the groups must arrange the letters
to form the correct word. Once completed, they
will paste the word on their board. At the count
of three, all groups must raise their boards. The
first group who will raise their board first with
the correct answer, will be the winner.
C. ACTIVITY " I SHARE, YOU SHARE, WE SHARE"

The teacher will divide the class into five


groups, and the students will move to their
respective groups. Each group will receive a
copy of the topic to discuss. They will have five
minutes to share their ideas within their group.
After the discussion, the teacher will call on
some students to share their thoughts with the
class. Those who participate will be given
points.
D. ANALYSIS 1. What is the importance of knowing the
procedure on escorting and seating the
guests?

2. What should you do when guiding guests to


their seats?

3. How can you make guests feel comfortable


when seating them?
E. ABSTRACTION Summarize the main points discussed in
the activities, highlighting the escorting and
seating the guest procedure.

Guide Questions:
1. How should a receptionist handle guests'
seating preferences if their desired table is
unavailable?

2. What should a receptionist say before guests


are seated?

F. APPLICATION “THE RESTAURANT’S RECEPTIONIST”

The teacher will divide the students into three


groups. Each group will gather in their
designated area to discuss and plan their
approach to the given scenario. They will have
at least 15 minutes to practice. After the
practice session, the groups will take turns
portraying the given scenario.

Scenario #1:

You will be going to portray as the Restaurant’s


Receptionist. You will be going to escort a
couple. As a receptionist, you will be going to
perform your task in seating your guests to
their table and introduced the captain
waiter/waiter to them.

IV. ASSESSMENT I. TRUE OR FALSE

Write T if the statement is true and F if it is


false. Write your answer in a ½ sheet of paper.

_____Guests should be seated based on their


preferences whenever possible. _

_____The receptionist should walk ahead of


the guests and walk at a normal pace.

_____The first person to be seated in a group


should be the host or hostess.

_____A well-executed seating process can


improve customer satisfaction.

_____When seating guests, it is unnecessary


to consider the number of people in their party.
