CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT?

What is classroom management?

WHAT IS CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT?

 It is the way that you manage

student’s learning by
organizing and controlling
what happens in the
classroom, and it is also what
happens when the teacher
avoids or remain ignorant
about these choices.
WHAT IS CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT?

 The choices made in classroom

management make a really
grandiose part in creating the
individual working atmosphere
of your class- how to be in a
room with you as a teacher.
Whether it is enjoyable, is it an
engaging class? Does it feel
comfortable? and even learning
is it inspiring or dull, uninvolving
or uninspiring?
WHAT IS CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT?

 The way a teacher manages his

class reflects what he believes
about teaching and learning
about learners and their
potential and about the
relationship of the teacher and
the learner or student.
CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT

 Is classroom management simple or complex ?

CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT IS BOTH SIMPLE AND COMPLEX

 Complex:
 There is no way that a book or video can tell the teacher of how he can solve the organizational problems
of specific classes in different contexts all around the world.
 Within each individual problem, there are distinct characteristics that will make each situation unique, for
example: < cultural norms, people involved, relationships, psychological problems>
 And with no one can dictate on what to do in each situation because all effective teaching requires an
active-by-moment processing of the current situation and a flexible ever-changing reflection as to might be
the best thing to do.
CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT IS BOTH SIMPLE AND COMPLEX

 Simple:
 Having said that classroom management is complex, classroom management is also deliciously simple. Reason for
that, is that there are many small, easy-to-learn, practical techniques that can be read about and tried, improved
and then used as part of any teacher’s repertoire of classroom skills and in most cases, having more of these
fingerprints will make you a better teacher, as simple as it sounds.
CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT

 What are some of the effective classroom

management strategies to achieve the wanted goal?
SOME EFFECTIVE CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT STRATEGIES TO
ACHIEVE THE WANTED GOAL.

 Set the tone: a good

teacher doesn’t just sit
in his disk, before class
begins, he stands near
the door and begins
greeting the kids as they
enter as to set a positive
tone before class begins.
SOME EFFECTIVE CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT STRATEGIES TO
ACHIEVE THE WANTED GOAL.

 Jump right in: good

managers start class right
away. Diving right into
class and leaving classroom
maintenance tasks until
later in the period.
SOME EFFECTIVE CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT STRATEGIES TO

 Establish the rules:

great teachers have
protocols in class to
handle routine issues that
occur every classroom.

know the policy on not
using cellphones.
