DAILY LESSON PLAN

LESSON PLAN IN TLE- TECHNOLOGY EDUCATION

Grade Level & Section: Grade 8 – Section 9, & 10 Quarter: 4th Quarter
Learning Area: Consumer Electronics Servicing
Date: May 11, 2023

I. OBJECTIVES
A. Content Standards:
The learners develop knowledge, skills, and attitudes
required in determining resistance value of a resistor through
color coding.

B. Performance Standards:
The learners independently calculate the value of a resistor
through color coding.
C. Learning Competencies/Objectives:
Identify object or component to be measured.
Code: TLE_IAEPAS9- 12PMC-Ig-h-9
Specific Objectives:
At the end of the lesson, 100% of the students will be
able to achieve 80% proficiency in the following:
a. Distinguish the correct value of each color band in
finding resistor's resistance value and tolerance
b. Find the resistor value using the color code chart
c. Participate actively in group work

II. CONTENT (Subject Matter):

Resistor Color Coding

Sub topic: Finding the resistor value using the color code chart

III. LEARNING RESOURCES:

A. References:
1. Teacher’s Guide page/s:
2. Learner’s Materials page/s:
• K to 12 Technology and Livelihood Education Curriculum
Guide, TLE Learning Module in Electricity 9.

IV. PROCEDURE
A. Routine Activities
1. Prayer
2. Greetings
3. Checking of Attendance

B. Reviewing the previous lesson or presenting the new lesson

The students will define the types of resistors

C. Establishing a purpose for the lesson

The students will reveal the lesson for the day using 4 pics 1 word.

Mechanics:
1. Analyze the 4 pictures what will represent the pictures in 1 Word.
2. Guess what the word they represent it.

D. Presenting examples/instances of the new lesson Unlocking of
technical terms:
Resistor- a electric components that resists the flow of current
Resistance- the amount of opposition to the flow of electric
current Ohms- is a unit of measurement of resistance, uses
the symbol of Greek letter omega
Tolerance- percentage of error in the resistor’s resistance

E. Discussing new concepts and practicing new skills

RESISTOR COLOR CODING

A scheme to determine the
value of the resistors by color bands
printed on their bodies

HOW TO READ RESISTOR?

In reading the color of resistor, the gold or silver of band

should be right side and the reading start from left to right.

F. Developing mastery
“GROUP ACTIVITY”

Directions:
1. The class divided into 5 groups.
2. Each group will answer the following problem.
3. Write and explain the answer.

Instruction:
1. Transfer the colors of the resistor to the resistor drawing in
left side using crayons or other coloring materials.
2. Find the resistance value of a resistor with the following set
of colors to determine the range of the resistor’s resistance
value and its tolerance.
