Check your work area and surrounding area for unsafe conditions such as bad high walls. Insure the bucket is on the ground and the parking brake is set before beginning the inspections. Check bucket cutting edges, bucket teeth, rock guard and pins condition. Check bucket cylinders for damages and leaks. Check windows, mirrors and lights for any damage. Check condition of ladders and handrails damage. Check all fluid levels including engine oil, coolant, transmission and hydraulic oil. Check fire extinguisher. Check any leak in coolant system, engine, hydraulic system or transmission. Clean and adjust all mirrors. Visually check condition of all tires for cuts and inflation pressure.
STARTING THE MACHINE
Fasten seat belt. Insure transmission selector lever is in neutral position. Engine key switch to the ON position. Sound horn on time and WAIT 15 seconds. Check all gauges, warning lights and horn as engine warms it idle.
Oil pressure at normal operation level :
▪ Raise bucket and check underside skid plates, cutting edges and bucket teeth. ▪ Lower bucket and check steering. ▪ Test brakes. ▪ Overall condition “satisfactory” or “unsatisfactory”.
