“The Broken Pencil”


Liam was excited to take his math test, but as soon as
he started writing, his pencil broke! He looked around
and saw his friend, Mia. “Can I borrow a pencil?. He
asked. Mia smiled and gave him an extra one. Liam (pupil’s will read the short story)
thanked her and was able to finish his test on time.

So what is the problem in the story?

Liam’s pencil broke and he didn’t have a sharpener.

Informational text have a 5 elements the first one is

1. Heading and subheadings


- the title of the section of the text. Heading and
subheadings help the author sort information into
similar groups
2. Bold words
- expect words that are important to understand the
specific topic of the text.

3. Diagram
- A picture with label used to show the reader parts or
to help the reader see the information.

4. Glossary
- Defines a key vocabulary words.
