MINUTES ON GENERAL PARENTS-TEACHERS ASSOCIATION (PTA)

MEETING
June 13, 2022

The Department of Education, as supported by the Office of the President, begun the
expansion and transitioning of schools from modular and virtual learning modalities to limited
face-to-face classes. With the goal of implementing this new normal setup of classrooms, DepEd
issued the DepEd Memorandum 071 s. 2021 to stipulate the guidelines for a safe and successful
implementation of limited face-to-face classes around the country. In accordance to the
aforementioned memo, Melchor B. Burlaos Memorial High School called for a General Parents-
Teachers Conference on June 13, 2022 to conduct orientation to the parents and other
stakeholders about the preparations to be made before the said implementation.
The emcee, Mr. John Gino G. Buenafe, JHS Teacher, opened the general conference
between teachers and parents with a few enlightening words that promote cooperation and
communication between parents, teachers and other stakeholders of education. Ms. Dominga B.
Muro, SHS Teacher, took the stage to lead the parents and teachers in an opening prayer.
Afterwards, Ms. Kimberly C. Balasa, JHS Teacher conducted the participants as everyone
passionately sang the Philippine National Anthem.
Mr. Alfredo P. David, Principal-I, gave his welcome address to the parents in attendance.
While he also warmly wished everyone a safe journey on their way home, Mr. David also
welcomed the parents to the important things to be discussed in the conference by explaining the
significance of the affair to educating the learners. Mr. David then, introduced the main agendum
of the parents-teachers conference; how teachers, parents and the school collaborate to prepare
for the implementation of the limited face-to-face classes. He also discussed the IATF protocols
and school policies to be observed by the teachers and students in the conduct of limited face-to-
face classes.
The conference was concluded at 9:30 in the morning. Parents proceeded to their
respective classroom for the homeroom PTA meeting, and the distribution and retrieval of self-
learning modules.
