Introductory Message
For the facilitator:

Welcome to Internet Computing Fundamentals III Module on MANIPULATING

ROWS AND COLUMNS: Hide, Freeze & Split commands.
This Self-Learning Module was collaboratively designed, developed and
reviewed by educators from the Schools Division Office of Pasig City headed by its
Officer-in-Charge Schools Division Superintendent, Ma. Evalou Concepcion A.

MANIPULATING ROWS AND COLUMNS
Hide, Freeze & Split Command

If you are working with a lot of data, the information in your workbook
might be difficult to compare. In this chapter, you will learn the methods that
might be helpful to make it easier to display the content seamlessly. This
process involves the aid of using tools such as Hide/Unhide, Freeze panes, and
Split command.

Hide/Unhide Column(s):

1. Select the column(s) you want to hide, right-click the mouse, then
select Hide from the formatting menu.

For example, hide columns B and C.

2. The columns will be hidden and green column line will appear that shows the
position of hidden column(s).

Green line

Freeze rows:
Freezing rows or columns in place, allows you to scroll through your content while
still showing the frozen cells.
1. Select the row below the row(s) you want to freeze.
For example, let’s freeze rows 1, so we'll select row 2.
2. Go to View tab, select the Freeze Panes command, then choose Freeze
Panes from the drop-down menu.

3. The row above the selected row will now be frozen. From the example, you will
notice that you can still view the frozen rows at the top while scrolling
down the worksheet.

Notice this part

To freeze columns:
1. Pick the column to the right of the column(s) you want to freeze.
For example, let’s freeze column A, we select column B.

2. Go to View tab, select the Freeze Panes command, then choose Freeze
Panes from the drop-down menu.
3. The column on the left side of the selected column will now be frozen.
From the example, you will notice that you can still view the frozen column
at the left while scrolling across the worksheet.

Unfreeze panes:
Click the Freeze Panes button to unfreeze the rows or columns, then pick Unfreeze
Panes from the drop-down menu.

Split a worksheet:
The Split command allows the worksheet to be split into several panes that scroll
separately.

1. Choose the cell where you want to split the worksheet. For example, select
cell D6.
2. Click the View tab on the Ribbon, then select the Split command.

3. The workbook will be split into multiple panes. With the scroll bars, you can
