I. [2 3 4]
3 5 7
1 −1 −1
II. [1 1 1]
3 1 1

5. Show that the vectors (1, 1, 1), (1, -1, 1), (3, -1, 3) are linearly independent.
6. Show that the vectors (1, 2, 1), (2, 1, 4), (4, 5, 6), (1, 8, -3) are linearly dependent.
7. Test the consistency of the system of equations:
𝑥 + 2𝑦 − 𝑧 = 1, 3𝑥 − 2𝑦 + 2𝑧 = 2, 7𝑥 − 2𝑦 + 3𝑧 = 5 and if consistent then solve it
completely.
8. Use the rank method to test the consistency of the system of equations:
𝑥 + 2𝑦 + 𝑧 = 2, 3𝑥 + 𝑦 − 2𝑧 = 1, 4𝑥 − 3𝑦 − 𝑧 = 3, 2𝑥 + 4𝑦 + 2𝑧 = 4 and if consistent then
solve it completely.
