METHOD OF STATEMENT FOR water supply and drainage pipeline work

1. PURPOSE.
The purpose of this method of statement is to identify the procedure to be adopted for the supply and
installation of water supply and drainage pipeline works.

2. SCOPE
The purpose of this method statement is to define the sequence and methodology for water supply
and drainage pipeline with Civil Works.

3. TOOLS AND RESOURCES


1) Hand tools (hammer, spanner, measuring tape, tester, pipe wrench, shovel, toolbox, water level etc.)
2) Power tools (Drill, jack hammer, Power screwdriver, grinder)
3) Vehicle (1 ton pickup).

4. RESPONSIBILITIES
a. PROJECT ENGINEER.
1) Coordinate all the site activities required according to the project specification, manufacture data sheet and approved
shop drawing.
2) Liaise with site representative of engineer and coordinate safety procedure with site and supervisors.
3) Ensure that the installation complies with the requirements.
4) Coordinate and explain the works to be carried out to the supervisors.
5) Maintain records of work done and submit the progress report to the authorities concerned.
6) Ensure the compliance of works with the related approved quality control procedure and coordinate with the client
representatives.
b. FOREMAN/SUPERVISOR.
1) To execute the works according to the, approved drawings and project requirement.
2) To coordinate with crew to follow (HSE) Plan at the site as per client requirements.
3) To ensure that the relevant PPEs are used by the crew at the site.
4) Responsible for proper storage of material as per site requirement.
5) Coordinate the progress and obstruction submit the report to construction in charge.
6) Responsible for site housekeeping monitoring.

5. MATERIAL HANDLING AND STORAGE.
a. Off-loading safely at appropriate location.
b. Well cordon the storage area with plastic mesh barrier and ensure sign boards are in place.
c. Materials kept open are to be covered, if required, with plastic sheet to protect against direct
sunlight and dust.
d. A waste collection skip will be provided for collecting debris from excavation and demolition.

6. PROCEDURE.
a. Pre- installation activities.
1) Ensure all required drawing, document and material approval have been obtained.
2) Ensure toolbox coordination function takes place and all relevant personnel are aware of requirements prior to
commencing of work in each work zone.
3) Ensure the work area is clear and safe.
4) Arrange all necessary personnel, equipment and services as required for the works. And ensure adequate water,
lighting, power and access arrangements are in place.

b. Site cordoning and safety sign installation.


1) Mobilize all tools and material to the site using 1-ton pick-up vehicle and unload it inside the site manually.
2) Install all relevant safety cone with warning tape site barricade.

c. Work Sequence.
1) Mobilization of tools and equipment.
2) Cordoning with site security guard / in-charge and barricading the working area with safety cone and warning
tape.
3) Removal of interlock flooring approx. 03, mtr x 50cm x 50cm daily per shift
4) Doing work sequence one by one.
5) making of route for pipeline.
6) Installation of PPR pipe for drainage line.
7) Installation of PPR pipe for water supply.
8) Welding and leakage testing.
9) Supply and apply concrete on pipeline approx.. 30cm.
10) Filling of existing sand base with additional if required.
11) Compacting by compactor machine.
12) Installation of existing interlock pavement and additional new payment if required.
13) Removal and cart away all debris for disposal.
14) Installation, cleaning and testing handover the job.

7. SAFETY REQUIREMENTS.
a. Hazard Identified:
1) Falling objects, excavation, hot work, working at height, forklift and lifting, noise, materials on floor and electric
shock.

b. Person Exposed:
1) Other workers, Contractors and Visitors.

c. Control Measures:
1) Follow safe work and emergency procedures that have been implemented and strictly use PPE.
2) inspect scaffolding after erection and tag it.
3) Clean the debris and other FOD regularly, Keep the site neat and tidy always.
4) Check electrical equipment working properly.
5) Keep cables and other materials off the floor and walkways.

6) Check electric drill and extension leads for visual signs of damage.
7) Only required length of leads to be used on site.
8) check for danger tags and warning signs while using scaffolding

d. PE.: All personals employed on this project are instructed to wear:


1) Safety hard hats.
2) Safety gloves.
3) Safety steel toe capped footwear.
4) High visibility fluorescent jackets
5) Safety goggles, if required
6) Safety harness and fall arrest block when working above height of 1.8 meters.

e. Emergency measures.
1) Check for emergency exit.
2) Check for extinguishers.
3) check for first aid arrangement

8. ATTACHMENT.
Valid Eid, visa copies, Workmen compensation Fund Certificate.

9. LABOUR.
Initially for increasing as per workload.

10. SUPERVISOR NAME AND CONTACT.
