Title: Drone Fusion (A National-Level 24-Hour Drone Hackathon 2025)

3rd and 4th April 2025

SECTOR 1: UAV- Assisted Agriculture Monitoring
 Goal: Develop and deploy unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs)
capabilities for agricultural monitoring, including crop health
assessment, pest detection, irrigation management and yield
prediction.
 Key Tasks:
o Select/design UAVs with appropriate sensors (multispectral,
thermal, RGB) for crop health, pest detection, and irrigation
monitoring.
o Implement autonomous flight, GPS navigation, and real-
time data collection capabilities.

SECTOR 2: Payload Delivery & Precision Landing

 Goal: Design a drone system that can pick up small payloads and
accurately deliver them to a designated spot.
 Key tasks :
o Integrate a gripping mechanism or payload – release system.
o Create a computer vision module or beacon – based system
for precise landing.

SECTOR 3: Environmental Monitoring & Data Collection

 Goal : Equip a drone with sensor ( e.g.,Temperature,humidity,C02)
to collect and analyze environmental data .
 Key Tasks :
o Develop a flight plan for systematic data collection
o Build a data pipeline to store, visualize, and interpret the
sensor readings (e.g., Real – Time Dashboards).

SECTOR 4: Autonomous Navigation & Obstacle Avoidance

 Goal: Create or Integrate a Software Module that Enables a Drone
to Detect and Navigate Around Obstacles in Real Time.
 Key Tasks :
o Utilize Sensor Data (e.g., LiDAR , Sonar, or Computer
Vision) to Detect Obstacles.
o Implement Path Finding Algorithms (e.g., A* or RRT) to
Plan Safe Routes

SECTOR 5: Computer Vision for Target Recognition

 Goal : Use Onboard Cameras and ML Algorithms to Identify Targets
(e.g., Specific Shapes, Colours , or QR Codes),
 Key Tasks :
o Integrate a Machine Learning Framework (e.g., Tensor Flow
Lite) on an Embedded Platform.
o Implement Real – Time Object Detection or Tracking.

SECTOR 6: Swarm Coordination & Multi – Drone Collaboration

 Goal: Enable Two or More Drones to Coordinate Tasks (e.g.,
Formation Flying, Coverage area Exploration).
 Key Tasks :
o Establish Communication Protocols Between Drones (e.g., Wi-
Fi or Zigbee).
o Implement Distributed Algorithms For Task Allocation or
Formation Control.

SECTOR 7: Search and Rescue Operations

 Goal: Equip a drone with advanced sensors, thermal imaging, and
GPS to quickly locate and rescue individuals in fires and natural
disasters.
 Key Tasks:
o Employ thermal cameras and advanced sensors to identify the
individuals who are trapped or affected by the disaster.

SECTOR 8: Pipeline and Mining inspection

 Goal : Develop an autonomous drone for swift, precise pipeline and
mining inspections, detecting leaks, hazards, and structural issues with
optimized flight and real-time analysis.
 Key Tasks:
o Use high-resolution cameras, ultrasound sensors, or laser
scanning technology to monitor for cracks, corrosion, or other
structural failures along pipelines or mining tunnels.
o Use onboard processors (like NVIDIA Jetson or other edge AI
devices) to analyze visual and sensor data in real-time

SECTOR 9: FPV Sky Challenge

 Goal: Race high-speed FPV drones through an obstacle-filled course,
showcasing agility, precision, and speed while avoiding collisions to
reach the finish line first.
 Key Tasks:
o Create and execute high-speed drone races through challenging,
obstacle-laden courses to test agility and control.
