CIVIL AFFAIRS ENVIRONMENT

Civil Affairs environment is the space located within or outside the area of CMO

environment consist of organizations and its stakeholders, social network, the local

community and society.

CA Operational Space

The operational space of Civil Affairs operator is categorized by the following major

environment: political, social, cultural, and economic.

Political environment refers to the influence of government policies, political stability,

and diplomatic relationships on the planning and execution of military activities in

support of civilian populations.

Social environment in civil affairs activities refer to the demographic, and societal

aspects that influence the interactions between military forces and civilian populations

during humanitarian assistance or peacekeeping missions.

Cultural environment refers to the local culture, traditions, religion, and dialects that

guide the Civil Affairs in understanding the norms in its area of activities.

Economic environment refers to the local jobs, standard of living, livelihood

opportunities, business, and other economic development programs that Civil Affairs

operator analyzes to facilitate appropriate assistance or enhancement programs,

normally through Civil Affairs activities.
