1. Introduction
Technology is constantly evolving and has become an indispensable part of modern life. Advances in the
field of electronic engineering led to the emergence of the first automated robots. In 1948, William Grey
Walter developed the first electronic autonomous robots in Bristol, England, while John T. Parsons and
Frank L. Stulen pioneered the development of numerical control computing tools in the late 1940s. In 1954,
George Devol created the first programmable digital robot, known as Unimate, marking the beginning of the
development of robotics (Wikipedia, 2024). Over the past decades, intelligent robots have rapidly evolved
and become an essential part of various fields such as industry, services, and healthcare. They have made
significant contributions to enhancing the quality of life and optimizing work efficiency. This study will
clarify the evolution of robots over time and their contributions to life through different stages.
2. Discussion of findings
2.1. Overview of robots intelligent
2.1.1. Definition of intelligent robots
''In the 4.0 manufacturing environment, the presence of industrial robots significantly increases productivity.
The ability of robots to operate 24/7 not only reduces downtime in the production process but also increases
the efficiency of the factory. The number of products produced in a given period of time is significantly
increased, while minimizing the exhaustion of labor resources.'' The emergence of intelligent robots brings
many significant benefits to humans. They help significantly reduce small errors in the production chain or
daily life caused by humans. The linked systems in robots have the ability to program and work efficiently,
meticulously avoiding the possibility of errors many times more than humans. The decisions that AI makes
at each step are determined by previously collected information and a set of certain algorithms. When
programmed correctly, these errors can be reduced to zero (Nikita Duggal 2019). From there, work
performance is completed properly, and the execution time is shortened. When owning smart robots, we can
save money such as paying employees or living expenses, incidental expenses. Besides, robots work without
days off, do not need to pay for meals or breaks, work 24/7, do not need to pay fees such as life insurance,
etc., ...
The presence of intelligent robots in the field of health care has significantly improved the treatment
outcomes for patients. Robot services have helped to improve precision and perfection to a minimum, which
is completely better than humans because of high precision, minimal invasion and ensuring quality patient
care, supporting shortening recovery time.
Through the COVID19 pandemic, we can see more clearly about intelligent robots, they have brought
countless benefits. Perhaps robots are the best choice that no other alternative can perform better, the
disinfection and spraying robot has done its job cleanly and safely. UVD-bot is one such example of a
disinfection robot. It is a self-driven germicidal robot which uses ultraviolet light (UVC-254 nm). UVC light
used in this robot is effective against the coronavirus as it disrupts the DNA base pairing, hence rendering
the virus harmless. The result, of which it can perform the sanitation of a room within 10 minutes, is 100
percent autonomous and extremely efficient in disinfection. The robot is mainly used to carry out
sanitization of hospital premises, thus preventing the direct contact of individuals from the contaminated
zones (Jane Holland 2021)
2.2.2. Education
Information technology is changing the operation of the education sector in a more modern and intelligent
direction. Automating activities in education is essential to improve labor productivity, while helping
lecturers or staff focus more on professional expertise. Robotic Process Automation (RPA) has been applied
in many fields at home and abroad to automate repetitive office work. The article presents an overview of
RPA, analyzes the areas of work that RPA can be applied in education and provides a model for applying
RPA in educational institutions(FahAlgalil2021) . For education, the application of intelligent robots can be
supported through many methods. This helps most students to be exposed to new ways of learning, add
many interesting experiences and thereby find effective learning methods for themselves. Robots can also
take on many positions such as lecturers, teaching assistants or personal tutors. From supporting teaching in
the classroom to tutoring students at home, robots in education have brought quite positive results. They help
develop children's social skills, personalize lessons through one-on-one interactions and take on a number of
other roles to reduce the heavy workload of teachers. The shortage of teachers is also increasing, thanks to
the support of robots, it has somewhat reduced the worries of schools as well as the state. The new
appearance of robots brings a new perspective to students, attracts students' attention, and avoids boredom
like traditional learning methods. At the same time, educational robots help reduce the workload for teachers,
support lesson planning and assist in teaching in class to bring interesting and effective lessons.
3. Conclusion
Intelligent robot development has numerous problems, the most serious of which is a lack of emotional
intelligence required for effective human connection. In difficult settings, robots fail to demonstrate
empathy, flexibility, and nuanced understanding. Concerns around accountability, data security, and
openness must be addressed ethically and legally. Nonetheless, collaborative robots (cobots) improve
productivity, and applications in arts, agriculture, and healthcare show great promise. Addressing existing
restrictions is critical for future advancements.
